Hurricanes Fans Face A New Way To Watch The Title Defense

The new partnership between the Carolina Hurricanes and Fubo provides fans with expansive live streaming options just in time to witness their thrilling Stanley Cup title defense in the 2026-27 season.

Carolina Hurricanes fans have a new place to follow their team this season, and it comes with a setup built for people who don’t want to juggle a cable bill just to catch puck drop.

The big change is simple: 72 of Carolina’s 84 regular-season games are scheduled to air on the team-owned Hurricanes Hockey Network, or HHN, and that network is available regionally on Fubo through the streaming service’s new My Local Sports add-on to its Fubo Sports plan. For viewers in the Hurricanes’ home market, that means the path to seeing most of the team’s games now runs through a streaming package made with sports fans in mind.

Fubo’s appeal starts with the basics. It’s a live TV streaming service, so subscribers can watch through the Fubo app on supported devices like smart TVs, streaming sticks, phones, tablets and web browsers instead of signing up for a traditional cable or satellite package. Depending on the plan and location, the service carries major sports and broadcast networks such as ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and ESPN, along with live sports ranging from NFL games and college football to the NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, golf and racing.

The other piece that makes Fubo stand out for fans is the DVR setup. All U.S. plans include unlimited Cloud DVR storage at no extra charge, which gives subscribers a way to record games, shows and events and watch them later. For anyone dealing with overlapping start times or a night away from home, that’s a real convenience.

For Hurricanes fans, the relevant package is the Fubo Sports plan with the My Local Sports add-on. It costs $64.98 for the first month and $74.98 per month after that.

The bundle includes more than 30 sports-specific and major broadcast networks, ESPN Unlimited, local sports coverage in supported regions and NHL Center Ice at no extra charge. Fubo says that makes it a strong option for viewers who want the most important national networks plus as many home-team games as possible.

The base sports package is the leanest of Fubo’s U.S. offerings. It includes 30+ channels, ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC in select markets, ESPN Unlimited, unlimited Cloud DVR, viewing on up to 10 screens at once and no contract.

Fubo Pro is the next step up, with 232 channels and regional NBA, NHL and MLB games where available. Fubo Elite bumps that to 295 channels and adds 4K for supported events and programming.

Elite with Sports Plus is the biggest sports package of the group, with 300+ channels, Sports Plus with NFL RedZone, International Sports Plus and 4K included.

Signing up is straightforward. New U.S. subscribers may be able to start with a free trial on select plans.

The process begins on Fubo’s website, where users enter their ZIP code to see what channels, plans and regional sports options are available in their area. From there, they choose a plan, create an account, select any add-ons such as Sports Plus with NFL RedZone, International Sports Plus, MLB.TV or DAZN, then enter payment information.

Fubo notes that plans, prices, free trials and channel availability can change, so fans should check the final details before subscribing, especially if they’re signing up to follow a specific team or league.

Hurricanes Trade Puzzle Could Decide Their Hellebuyck Chase

The Hurricanes summer to-do list has gotten more complicated as talks continue around restricted free agent defenseman Alexander Nikishin. Carolina has discussed the young blueliner with multiple teams, and the St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators are among the clubs showing interest, with the Hurricanes aiming for a return that matches the kind of value attached to two first-round picks.

All of that matters because Carolina is also looking at Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, and the path to getting him is not a simple one. His situation in Winnipeg has created real trade friction, enough that the Hurricanes may need an expanded deal structure to make the move work, which leaves their next step tied to how the Nikishin talks finally shake out. Oilers Already Face A Forward Shakeup Calgary Fans Will Notice

The Oilers are already dealing with a forward shuffle before the regular season has really settled in, and it is the kind of early-season wrinkle that can ripple beyond Edmonton. Zach Hyman is out for about two weeks after suffering an undisclosed preseason injury, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is also sidelined, leaving the club to patch together its top-six mix while Matt Savoie remains out longer-term.

In response, Edmonton has moved Leon Draisaitl onto a line with Connor McDavid and Vasily Podkolzin, a change that gives the group a different look but also underscores how thin the depth chart has become. There is some expected movement back toward normal once the injuries ease, but for now the Oilers are sorting through replacements and trying to keep the lineup intact while a few key names work their way back. Hurricanes Just Clarified One Roster Question And A Fan Frustration

Cayden Primeaus path through the Hurricanes goaltending picture got a little clearer after the team assigned him to its AHL affiliate in Chicago following a waiver clearance. For Carolina, its a straightforward roster move on the surface, but one that matters for a group that has spent the early part of the season sorting out depth in net and making sure every available option is accounted for.

The bigger off-ice win for fans came in the form of a wider reach for the teams broadcasts, as Carolina announced an expanded agreement with Cox Media Group and Gray Media for a 10-game Saturday Night Hockey package. Those games will air on free over-the-air channels in multiple markets across North and South Carolina, while the Hurricanes will still keep their Hockey Network and streaming options in place for viewers who prefer to watch that way.
