Flames Just Unveiled A Saddledome Tribute Fans Will Feel

Explore the new Hometown Remix collection as the Calgary Flames pay tribute to their cherished arena and community with a uniquely designed jersey ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Calgary Flames are getting a new look that leans hard into the city’s identity, and it comes with a clear nod to the Scotiabank Saddledome. Today, the Flames, the NHL and Fanatics unveiled the club’s Hometown Remix uniform, a special edition design built around the fans, fabric, culture of Calgary and the building that has housed the team’s home games since 1983.

The jersey is part of a league-wide rollout that includes all 32 clubs, and Calgary’s version was developed with Fanatics, the NHL’s on-ice uniform provider, and the league itself. The project wrapped up after a two-year development process.

The Flames will wear the Hometown Remix uniforms nine times during the 2026-27 season, starting Friday, November 6th, 2026, when they host the Anaheim Ducks at Scotiabank Saddledome. The full home schedule for the jersey includes games against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, November 8th, 2026; the New York Rangers on Wednesday, November 11th, 2026; the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, December 3rd, 2026; the Washington Capitals on Saturday, December 5th, 2026; the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, December 8th, 2026; the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, January 12th, 2027; the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, January 14th, 2027; and the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, January 16th, 2027.

The design is packed with references to the Saddledome. The “88 Gold” front crest uses the texture of the arena ceiling, the sleeve striping includes the shape of the iconic windows, and the exterior hem striping reflects the roofline.

The hem also carries the year the Saddledome opened and the year it will close. Even the custom block numbers were built with the texture of the shutters.

Robert Hayes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Calgary Sports & Entertainment Corporation, said, “There are few things as identifiable with Calgary and the Calgary Flames as the Scotiabank Saddledome.” He added, “For our Farewell Season, we are proud to have partnered with the NHL and Fanatics to create a uniform that pays tribute to the building that has been part of the fabric of this city since 1983. The Hometown Remix uniform provides an incredible opportunity for our fans to take a piece of the Scotiabank Saddledome with them long after this season is over and celebrate the memories made under its iconic roof for years to come.”

Brian Jennings, NHL Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Partnerships and Club Strategy Officer, said, “Few symbols in sports carry the history, pride, and emotional connection of an NHL sweater,” said Brian Jennings, NHL Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Partnerships and Club Strategy Officer. “Hometown Remix builds on that legacy in a fresh and authentic way, celebrating the fans, culture and communities that make each NHL market unique.

Together with Fanatics and our Clubs, we’ve created designs that are rooted in local identity and tell a story about the cities and fans they represent. We’re incredibly excited to bring the program to life and see that passion reflected both on the ice and in the stands.”

Dom Fillion, Vice President of Creative Design for Fanatics, said, “Hometown Remix represents the most exciting initiative our team has designed and delivered with our partners since we hit the ice with the NHL in 2024,” said Dom Fillion, Vice President of Creative Design for Fanatics. “What makes this program so special is the collaboration with each club and together leaning into the history, culture, fabric and identity of every city and fan base to make sure these felt as authentic and personal as possible. We can’t wait to see them worn by the teams on the ice and the fans in the stands all season long.”

Along with the jerseys, the Hometown Remix collection includes headwear and men’s and women’s fan gear, such as hoodies, tees, and new fleece and outerwear styles. The Authentic Pro and Premium jersey versions, plus the apparel line, are available beginning today through Fanatics network sites including NHLShop.com, NHLShop.ca and Fanatics.com, as well as team stores and the NHL Shop NYC flagship store.

Oilers May Be Building A Matchup Flames Fans Wont Enjoy

The Oilers are still shaping their roster, and the direction they are taking could matter plenty on the other side of the Battle of Alberta. Bob Stauffer, one of Edmontons most plugged-in voices, has been talking about a team that is trying to build around a heavier, more physical style under coach Mike Babcock, with an emphasis on puck cycling and wearing opponents down below the hash marks.

For Flames fans, the part worth watching is how far Edmonton is willing to go in adding pieces that fit that identity. The Oilers have already made some recent moves and are still kicking around roster experiments, but there is a sense that the work is not finished yet, especially if they decide they need more help in the lineup and on the back end before the season settles in. Flames Just Unveiled A New Look Fans Are Already Fighting Over

The Flames have added another talking point to their look with the official unveiling of the Hometown Remix jersey, a design meant to nod to the Saddledome while leaning hard into gold accents. The new sweater brings a fresh twist to the teams visual identity, and the details in the numbers and lettering give it a more layered finish than a standard alternate release.

Fans have already split over it on social media, which is hardly a surprise anytime a club rolls out a bold new jersey. The real test, though, comes when the Flames wear it on the ice, where the colors, texture and overall feel will either come together under the lights or keep the debate going a while longer. Flames Fans Are About To Feel A Road Schedule Headache

Albertas move to stay on year-round Alberta Time has created a small but real scheduling wrinkle for Flames fans, especially when the team heads west. With the province no longer shifting clocks, Calgarys road dates against Pacific Time Zone opponents will now feel an hour later to viewers back home, even though the games themselves are still being played on the same local schedule. Home starts at the Scotiabank Saddledome should mostly look familiar, but the rhythm of a road trip is about to change.

For a fan base that already lives and dies by late-night puck drops, the adjustment is going to be noticeable once the Pacific Division slate ramps up. The tricky part is not just the later starts on the calendar, but the way they bunch together during one of the busier stretches of the season, turning a normal road swing into a much longer evening than many Calgary viewers are used to.
