Look good. Feel good. Play good.
That’s the idea for the Flames tonight, as Calgary breaks out its new Scotiabank Saddledome-inspired Hometown Remix uniforms for the first time against the Anaheim Ducks to open a three-game homestand.
The red sweaters come with a gold “C” and a design packed with nods to the building Calgary has called home for 44 years. The sleeves feature porthole windows, and the Saddledome ceiling is stitched into the primary logo on the front.
The NHL and Fanatics unveiled the Hometown Remix program Monday, a leaguewide special edition line of uniforms, apparel and headwear meant to celebrate each team’s fans, local culture and city identity.
For Matt Coronato, though, the first look came months earlier. He got a sneak peek in September at the NHL’s preseason media shoots in Las Vegas, and the experience stuck with him.
“It was really cool to get to go to that,” Matt Coronato said, during a post-practice conversation earlier this week. “There's so many great players there and just getting to go as an honour. It was a lot of fun.
“It was awesome to get to see the jersey. To get to wear it, and do some stuff in it was pretty cool.”
The league also captured his reaction the first time he saw the jersey, and Coronato’s response said plenty.
“I was like, ‘Wow, it's bright,’ Coronato recalled. “It looks good. I think we're gonna look good wearing them, and I'm excited to wear them Friday.
“Like even when we wore the ’04 ones (Oct. 24 versus Detroit, and three more times this season), before the game, you're thinking like, ‘This is cool!’ So that'll be exciting on Friday.”
Coronato said the Flames had extra energy in that win over Detroit, which was part of Calgary’s current five-game winning streak.
The Hometown Remix kit will be worn nine times on home ice, including all three games of this homestand. After Anaheim, the Flames host the Flyers on Sunday and the Rangers on Nov. 11.
For Coronato, who has played all 208 games of his NHL career in Calgary since being selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft, the uniform also carries a personal meaning. It’s another way to honor the Saddledome in what he sees as a special season.
“I mean, this whole year, I feel like it's special,’ he said. The Flames have done a great job with videos and really making it special about the ‘Dome this year. It's on us to play well and make it a special year on the ice too.
“But I think just being a part of this last year, with how much history is in the building is really cool for us.”

Flames Prospects Are Suddenly Giving Fans A New World Juniors Debate
A fresh World Juniors conversation has started around two Calgary Flames prospects, thanks to Daily Faceoffs projected United States roster for the 2027 IIHF tournament. Ethan Wyttenbach and Cullen Potter both surfaced in the early look, giving Flames fans another reason to track the pipeline as the organizations young talent begins to stack up on the international stage.
Wyttenbach, a 2025 fifth-round pick, has already turned heads with his NCAA scoring and a strong showing at the World Junior Summer Showcase, while Potter arrived in college with first-round expectations and has opened well at Michigan State after shoulder surgery ended his season. The added wrinkle is that Michigan State coach Adam Nightingale also serves as Team USAs head coach for the event, and with projections suggesting Calgary could have as many as six players at the World Juniors, the debate around who makes the cut is only getting louder. Flames Turnaround Suddenly Has Fans Rethinking Their Biggest Weakness
A month ago, the Flames looked like a team trying to survive its own crease. Five straight losses to open the 2026-27 season had already put the spotlight on goaltending, and the early questions around Calgary were less about style than whether the team had enough stability in net to stop the slide. Since then, Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley have helped flip that conversation, giving the club a much steadier backbone as it has climbed out of the hole.
The turnaround has been strong enough to make fans rethink what had seemed like the rosters biggest weakness. Calgarys recent run has been built on far better work from its goalies, and Cooleys stretch has drawn league notice during the winning streak. For a team that began with so much doubt hanging over the crease, the bigger question now is whether this is a short burst of form or the start of something more lasting. [Read more 🡒]
Flames Get A Real Chance To Build Momentum Back At Home
The Flames are back at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday night with a chance to settle into a rhythm at home, and the timing feels useful after a stretch where every point has carried extra weight. It will be the third meeting of the season with Anaheim, and Calgary will also unveil its Hometown Remix jerseys for the first time, adding a little extra energy to a matchup that already has some familiarity to it.
There is still plenty to sort through on both benches, with injuries thinning out the lineups and forcing both clubs to keep adjusting on the fly. Calgary is expected to turn to Dustin Wolf in goal, while Anaheim is projected to counter with Lukas Dostal, and the game will be carried on Sportsnet West and QR Calgary as the Flames try to turn a home date into something more meaningful.
