California football is getting a bigger TV stage in 2026.
On Tuesday, the program and NBC Sports Bay Area announced an expanded television package that will bring back Inside Cal Football for a second season and add two new shows: Inside Cal Football: Golden Era and Cal Football Postgame Live. Both new programs are part of the network’s coverage plan for the season, with the postgame show airing after every game.
Inside Cal Football: Season 2 is scheduled to premiere Aug. 6. The first episode will be replayed throughout August and will focus on the offseason before the weekly run begins on Sept. 3 with a preview of Cal’s season opener against UCLA.
The 30-minute series will continue to offer a behind-the-scenes look at the program, with host Justin Allegri, the voice of the Golden Bears, guiding viewers through footage from past games, player features and interviews with Travers Family Head Football Coach Tosh Lupoi, General Manager Ron Rivera, assistant coaches and players. New episodes will air every Thursday starting Sept. 3, before pregame coverage begins for the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors during the football season.
The show will also re-air at various times on Friday and Saturday before kickoff. There will be no episode during Cal’s bye weeks.
Golden Era will air as a three-part weekly series on Aug. 13, 20 and 27. That show will give fans a 30-minute behind-the-scenes look at Cal’s first fall camp under new Travers Family Head Coach Tosh Lupoi.
Postgame coverage will come through Cal Football Postgame Live, a 30-minute show hosted by Greg Silver and Patrick Laird. Home games will feature a live production from Gate 1 outside California Memorial Stadium before the program is replayed on NBC Sports Bay Area after Giants or Warriors coverage. Road games will be produced in-studio and then shown later on the network following Giants and Warriors coverage.
For fans without NBC Sports Bay Area, all three shows will be available on CalBears.com and the Cal Athletics YouTube page after each new episode.
NBC Sports Bay Area is carried across Northern California, Nevada, Southern Oregon and Hawai'i. The network is the TV home of the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors and Santa Cruz Warriors, and serves as the official regional sports network of the San Francisco 49ers.
