Aaron Rodgers Added Another Historic Moment To Cals NFL Week 7

In a historic game played in Paris, Aaron Rodgers moved up to third on the NFL's all-time passing touchdowns list, leading a week of impressive performances by former California Golden Bears.

Aaron Rodgers moved into third place on the NFL’s all-time regular-season passing touchdowns list Sunday, and he did it on a stage the league had never used before. In the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Paris, Rodgers threw the 540th touchdown pass of his career as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New Orleans Saints 16-10.

Rodgers finished 19 of 30 for 212 yards and the score, and the milestone pushed him past Peyton Manning. Only Drew Brees and Tom Brady remain ahead of him on the list.

Jared Goff also had a productive day for another former California quarterback. He helped the Detroit Lions edge Green Bay 20-17, going 22 of 32 for 303 yards and two touchdowns.

There was plenty more former Golden Bear action in the secondary. Kansas City cornerback Nohl Williams put together a career day, finishing with 10 tackles, a pass breakup, and a pick of Sam Darnold in the end zone that he returned 65 yards. Even with that effort, the Chiefs absorbed their first loss of the season, falling to the Seattle Seahawks 20-3.

Tennessee cornerback Marcus Harris matched his season high with seven tackles, while Craig Woodson set a new season best with eight. Harris and the Titans came up short against the Cleveland Browns, 27-24. Woodson and the New England Patriots also lost, dropping a road game to the Chicago Bears 30-24.

The list of 2026 Pro Bears still runs deep, with names spread across the league. It includes Keenan Allen with the Indianapolis Colts, Bryan Anger with the Dallas Cowboys, Brent Austin with the Denver Broncos, T.J. Bollers with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chris Brooks with the Green Bay Packers, Teddye Buchanan with the Baltimore Ravens, Camryn Bynum with the Indianapolis Colts, Ashtyn Davis with the San Francisco 49ers, Jared Goff with the Detroit Lions, Marcus Harris with the Tennessee Titans, Jaylinn Hawkins with the Baltimore Ravens, Cameron Jordan with the New Orleans Saints, Hezekiah Masses with the Las Vegas Raiders, Patrick Mekari with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Nikko Remigio with the Kansas City Chiefs, Aaron Rodgers with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Daniel Scott with the Indianapolis Colts, Jackson Sirmon with the New Orleans Saints, Jake Tonges with the San Francisco 49ers, Nohl Williams with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Craig Woodson with the New England Patriots.

Cal Walks Into A Wolfpack Spot Bears Fans Know Can Get Dangerous

NC State enters this week in a very different place than it expected to be in when the season began. Dave Doeren was fired after a loss that dropped the Wolfpack to 3-4, and eighth-year assistant Todd Goebbel has been handed the interim job as the program tries to steady itself before Cal comes to town. For the Bears, it is the kind of matchup that can get tricky fast, especially when a team is trying to reset emotionally as well as tactically.

Cal will also have its own important piece back in place. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is set to return as the starting quarterback after dealing with a concussion, giving the Bears a key element of continuity as they head into a game against a Wolfpack team suddenly led by a new voice. With the coaching change fresh and the week shortened by all the upheaval, this has the feel of a spot where the details matter just as much as the bigger picture. [Read more 🡒]

Cal In The Hunt For A Recruiting Win Mark Madsen Needs

A promising recruiting battle is coming into focus for Cal, with one of the top center prospects in the 2027 class nearing a decision. Lewis Uvwo has drawn interest from a long list of major programs, and the Bears are squarely in the mix after recently hosting him for a visit. He is regarded as one of the better big men in his class by multiple recruiting services, which is exactly the kind of profile Mark Madsen has been chasing as he looks to keep building out the frontcourt.

Uvwos visit gave Cal a chance to sell more than just playing time. He noted the Bears development plan for him, a point that matters for a prospect with major-program options and plenty of suitors already in the picture. With several blueblood-level programs still involved and a decision expected soon, Cal has positioned itself as a legitimate contender for a commitment that would carry real weight for the programs next phase. Cals New-Look Roster Faces An Early Chemistry Test Under Madsen

A little more than a week before its home opener, Cals mens basketball team is still learning how the pieces fit after a major roster shuffle. The Bears return nine players and have brought in five newcomers, giving Mark Madsen a group that looks markedly different as it prepares to open the season against Adams State at home after an exhibition loss to Oregon State.

For Madsen, the first real test is less about the opponent than the chemistry. An early-season game like this offers a chance to build rhythm, settle roles and start turning optimism into something more tangible, especially with a roster that is still getting used to playing together. Cal does not need a finished product in November, but it does need signs that the new-look group is beginning to move in the same direction. [Read more 🡒]
