No. 10 BYU is heading to Fort Worth with another fresh look in tow.
The Cougars will wear all white uniforms with royal trim and royal helmets for Saturday night’s road game at TCU, the program announced Monday. It marks the fourth different uniform combination in as many games this season.
BYU has made a habit of changing things up each week. The Cougars opened the 2026 season in their royal home uniforms with royal helmets, then went to a never-before-used all royal set with all white helmets against Arizona. In their first road trip at Colorado, they went with all white uniforms and navy accents.
This latest combo has already produced good memories. The last time BYU wore it came in 2025 against Cincinnati, when LJ Martin piled up more than 200 yards of total offense and the Cougars punched their ticket to the Big 12 championship game. That was also the first night game at Cincinnati in years, and BYU handled the atmosphere in a road win.
Weather could add another layer to this one. Rain is in the forecast in Fort Worth for the four days leading into the game, and there is also a chance of rain on Saturday night. TCU plays on natural grass, so the conditions could get slick.
The Horned Frogs have already dealt with a wet opener this season, when they traveled to Dublin and played North Carolina in rainy conditions. That night did not go well for TCU, especially on offense. Quarterback Jayden Craig had trouble with his accuracy, and TCU fell 10-15.
TCU enters the matchup at 2-2 and is 0-2 against Power Four opponents. In those two games, the Horned Frogs have managed just 11.5 points per game.
BYU, meanwhile, has reason to feel good about its recent track record against TCU. Last season in Provo, the Cougars turned in what may have been their cleanest performance of the year in a 44-13 rout.
Saturday’s game carries real weight for BYU as it tries to stay among the Big 12’s top contenders.

For BYU, the timing matters because the Cougars are still sorting out depth and competition at safety, and Hudson fits the profile of a player who could help immediately while still offering room to develop. BYU heads into its trip to TCU with a key question on the offensive line, as starting right tackle Andrew Gentry is listed as questionable because of injury. The Cougars have had to manage their front five carefully all season, and this latest uncertainty comes at a time when continuity up front matters even more against a conference opponent on the road.
If Gentry cannot go, freshmen Bott Mulitalo and Siosiua Latu-Finau are in line to battle for the spot at right tackle. There is some good news on the injury front, though, with coach Kalani Sitake saying offensive lineman Kyle Sfarcioc, tight end Roger Saleapaga and receiver Tiger Bachmeier are expected back after missing the previous game, giving BYU at least a few more options as it tries to sort out its lineup.
