Leaked Dianna Russini Footage Drags Bills Into Mess

Despite Dianna Russini's lively tale of a FaceTime plea to an NFL coach, new bodycam footage reveals the true narrative behind her traffic stop.

The bodycam footage from Dianna Russini’s traffic stop is out, and it tells a much simpler story than the one she shared on the radio earlier this year.

The seven minute, 10 second video, posted by Adam Herbets of the Center Square, shows the full stop. What it does not show at any point is Russini FaceTiming an NFL head coach to help her avoid a ticket for texting while driving.

That detail matters because Russini said in a February appearance on the Stugotz and Company radio show that she had done exactly that. Her account was also referenced at the start of a lengthy New York Times article last week about her, her former employer.

In the bodycam video, Russini tries to explain herself right away. After the officer walks up to her car, she says, “I’m an NFL reporter, and I just broke that Sean McDermott got fired from the Bills.

And that I what I was just sending to send [sic], a tweet. I was gonna pull over, because I have to make calls.

I know you don’t care, but I just wanted you to know my reason why.”

The officer responds, “Obviously you were on your phone for a while. . . . I understand you’ve got a job.”

Russini then says, “You know who I was on the phone with? Brian Daboll. He wants the job.”

The conversation drifts into football fandom from there. Russini asks whether the officer is a Giants or Jets fan, and he says, “I’m actually - I’m not a fan of either,” before adding, “I’m a Vikings fan, unfortunately,” when she asks for his team.

At that point, Russini shows him her phone and a text exchange with Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell. She does not FaceTime him. She simply holds up the phone.

She also takes a shot at the Vikings, saying their “quarterback sucks.”

Eventually, the officer comes back from his vehicle and decides to let her off with a warning. “I’m gonna cut you a break on the cellphone.

I understand your job requires you to be on the phone a lot. Just try to wait ‘til you get home, OK?”

That was the end of it. No FaceTime call ever happened, even if it made for a better radio story than the bodycam footage did.

Sabres May Be Running Out Of Time With Top Goalie Prospect

Devon Levis future in Buffalo is becoming harder to read by the day, and that matters for a Sabres team that once viewed him as a potential long-term answer in goal. Elliotte Friedman reported that the organization is considering moving the 23-year-old prospect, with Edmonton among the teams expressing interest, a sign that the market is starting to take shape around a goalie who has shown flashes in both the NHL and AHL but has not yet settled into a clear role.

The timing is what makes this worth watching for Buffalo. The Sabres already have other goaltenders under contract, and that depth has created a logjam that could push Levi toward the outside, especially if the team continues to reshuffle its roster. Once a prospect reaches this point, the question is no longer just whether he can help the Sabres, but whether they can afford to keep waiting for his path to open up. [Read more 🡒]

Familiar Sabres Name Gets A Chance Fans Will Instantly Recognize

Jacob Biron is getting a chance that should feel familiar to long-time Buffalo hockey fans, even if the path to it has been his own. The Army goaltender has been invited to the Sabres 2026 Development Camp at Harborcenter, putting him in the same summer setting as 27 other prospects and newcomers, including defenseman Radim Mrtka and forward Jake Richard.

The camp runs Monday through Thursday and will wrap up before Buffalos summer break, giving Biron a brief but meaningful look inside the organization. For a player who has built his career at Army, it is another sign that the Sabres are willing to keep an eye on local names and late-blooming talent as they sort through the next wave of possibilities. Sabres Fans Should Be Very Nervous About This New Trade Development

Jack Quinns name is suddenly in the middle of a new layer of uncertainty for Buffalo, and that alone is enough to make Sabres fans pay attention. After a strong season that included 20 goals and 51 points, Quinn has become one of the more valuable pieces on the roster, which makes his status especially noteworthy as the organization weighs its next move with a player who is still on a manageable contract.

The bigger concern for Buffalo is where this could go next, because Quinn is not just productive, he is also headed toward a future payday that will force the club to make a real long-term decision. With the Sabres already facing questions about how to balance present needs against future cap commitments, even the possibility of moving a young forward like Quinn adds another layer of tension to an offseason that already feels full of pressure.
