Josh Allen isn’t letting the noise around Buffalo’s new alternate uniforms linger.
The Bills’ gray jerseys drew plenty of criticism after the team unveiled them, but Allen pushed back while training camp got rolling ahead of the 2026 NFL season. He framed the look as part of a broader reset for Buffalo, tying it to the changes the franchise is already living through.
“It's a new look, I understand that. But we've got to be new, and I think these jerseys are kind of symbolic of that, and I'm excited to wear them. We had a lot of people who put in a lot of hard work for these jerseys,” he said, per Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com on X, formerly Twitter.
He made the message even simpler a bit later.
“Stop hating on the jerseys, guys,” he said, per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.
Allen also took a lighthearted shot at Buffalo’s previous alternate set, noting the Bills didn’t win in last year’s all-white design, so he’s willing to give the new look a chance.
The uniforms are arriving at the same time as plenty of other change in Buffalo. The Bills are moving into their new stadium, Highmark Stadium, this season, and they’re also doing it with a new head coach. Sean Brady was promoted from offensive coordinator after Sean McDermott was fired at the end of last season.
That backdrop matters because Buffalo is trying to move on from a painful finish to 2025. The Bills’ season ended with a crushing overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round, a game that featured several turnovers from Allen.
Now the attention shifts to September 13, when Buffalo opens the new season against the Houston Texans.
