Training camp has already given the Bills something to watch closely: Josh Allen and DJ Moore are getting on the same page fast.
Allen said the connection started to open up after he had a direct conversation with the newly acquired receiver about how he was throwing the ball. Instead of trying to place every pass with perfect precision, Allen told Moore he was going to simplify things and just let it rip.
“I feel myself trying to be perfect when I'm throwing to him in some of the routes on air,” Allen said about working out with Moore. “And I walked up to him and said, ‘I'm just going to throw it.
I'm going to pick a spot and let it go. I'm not trying to aim it anymore.'
And I feel like once I said that, things kind of clicked for us. And each day that goes by, we are going to get more comfortable with each other.”
That adjustment appears to be paying off as the two continue working together during camp.
The Bills landed Moore by sending a 2026 second-round pick (No. 60 overall) to the Chicago Bears and getting back Moore plus a 2026 fifth-round draft pick (No. 165 overall) ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Buffalo is expecting the 29-year-old to step in as the top target in the receiver room and give the passing game a real boost.
Moore arrives after a 2026-27 season in Chicago that saw his role shrink. He finished with career lows in receptions, with 50, and yards, with 682, while scoring six touchdowns. Now in Buffalo, he’ll have a chance to reset and get back to the level that made him such an important piece in the first place.
