Jessica Pegula may still be in the middle of a top-flight tennis career, but she’s already leaving the door open to life after the tour - and the Buffalo Bills could be part of it.
In a recent CNBC interview, the 32-year-old, who is currently ranked No. 3 in the world, said the idea of helping out with the family’s NFL organization down the road sounds appealing.
“I can’t say that wouldn’t be exciting if I got to help out with the organization one day. I always thought that I wanted to be in the sporting world when I was done with tennis.”
That’s the kind of comment Bills fans will notice right away, especially with Jessica part of the family that has owned the team since Terry and Kim Pegula bought it in 2014. Her tennis résumé is already deep: 11 singles titles and four major semifinal appearances, all while she’s still in what looks like the prime of her career.
Even more notable than her own quote was CNBC writer Alex Sherman’s reporting that Pegula said she would not want her family to sell the teams they own, even with franchise valuations soaring and recent team sales reshaping the sports landscape.
That matters because the future of Pegula family involvement is a real question. Terry Pegula is 75, and Kim Pegula stepped down as CEO of Pegula Sports and Entertainment after suffering a cardiac arrest episode. Before that medical event, she was heavily involved with the Bills and Sabres.
Jessica is one of four siblings, with two brothers and two sisters. Laura, Terry’s daughter from his first marriage, began attending league meetings with her father as early as 2023, though her exact role with the team still isn’t known.
For now, there’s no official word on how the rest of the Pegula children feel about future involvement with the Bills. But Jessica’s answer made one thing clear: the idea isn’t off the table.

Bills Get One Big Break Ahead Of Patriots Matchup
The Bills opened Week 4 with their first injury report in good shape at the most important spot, because Josh Allen was not listed as they began preparing for their divisional matchup with the Patriots. Buffalo did have a handful of other names on the report, but getting its starting quarterback off the injury list is the kind of early-week development that immediately steadies the conversation around a team heading into a division game.
New Englands report carried its own share of uncertainty, with several players either not practicing or working in a limited capacity, including Christian Barmore and Christian Gonzalez. For Buffalo, the broader picture is simple enough: the Bills are dealing with some practice limitations of their own, but the biggest concern that usually shapes everything else in a week like this is off the board for now. Bills May Have A Tough James Cook Decision Coming
James Cook has become one of the more interesting long-term pieces on Buffalos roster, not just because of what he does on the field, but because of what comes next. Under contract through the 2029 season, he is still in a comfortable team-controlled window, yet his recent play and the way the running back market has been moving make him a name worth watching well before any real deadline arrives.
His current deal sits 13th among running backs, which is respectable value for the Bills right now, but maybe not for long if the position keeps climbing financially. Buffalo could eventually decide that locking Cook in with an extension is the cleanest way to avoid a bigger decision later, especially if his camp starts looking at the growing salaries around the league and sees room for a raise. Josh Allen's Knee Suddenly Looms Over Bills Patriots Week
Josh Allens knee has quickly become the latest subplot for a Bills team trying to keep its early-season momentum rolling into a matchup with the Patriots. After limping off the field following Week 3, the quarterback drew immediate attention, but head coach Joe Brady said he is not worried about the injury and indicated Allen is trending toward being available in Week 4.
Practice reports will tell the rest of the story as the week unfolds, and thats where Buffalo will get its clearest read on how limited, if at all, Allen might be. For a team that runs through its quarterback in so many ways, even a minor health question can shape the entire conversation heading into a divisional game. [Read more 🡒]
