Brian Daboll’s next chapter in the NFL is starting to take shape-and it looks like it could be in Tennessee. After being let go by the New York Giants in November 2025 following a 2-8 start, Daboll has quickly become one of the most sought-after offensive minds on the market. According to Dianna Russini, the Titans are expected to bring him on as their new offensive coordinator-if he doesn’t land the Buffalo Bills’ head coaching job first.
That’s right-Daboll, who’s long been linked to Buffalo thanks to his past success with Josh Allen, is still in the mix for the top job there. He’s scheduled to interview with the Bills in the coming days. But if that door closes, Tennessee appears ready to welcome him with open arms.
The Eagles were also in the mix, having interviewed Daboll earlier this week, but the momentum seems to be shifting toward Nashville. And if the Titans do land him, pairing Daboll with head coach Robert Saleh would be a fascinating combination. The potential is there for a major offensive turnaround.
Daboll’s fall in New York was as swift as his rise. He arrived with promise and delivered early, leading the Giants to a 7-2 start in his first season and guiding them to their first playoff win since Super Bowl XLVI. That run earned him Coach of the Year honors and a wave of optimism in the Meadowlands.
But the momentum didn’t last. Since the start of the 2023 season, the Giants went just 11-33 under Daboll, including a 5-22 mark since the beginning of 2024.
His overall record now stands at 20-40-1. A big part of the struggle?
The quarterback situation was never truly settled, and that instability made it tough for Daboll’s offense to take flight. Injuries didn’t help either-2025 saw key playmakers like Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo sidelined, further limiting what Daboll could do with the offense.
Still, there’s a reason teams are lining up to bring him in. Daboll is widely respected for his offensive acumen, particularly his ability to develop quarterbacks and craft game plans tailored to their strengths. That’s what made him such a valuable piece in Buffalo during Josh Allen’s breakout years-and it’s why he’s still in the running to return there, this time as head coach.
The Giants, meanwhile, have officially turned the page, hiring John Harbaugh to take over the reins. As for Daboll, his second act in the NFL is coming. Whether it’s in Tennessee or back in Buffalo, don’t be surprised if he makes the most of it.
