Former Bills Lineman Ended Up In A Wild Taylor Swift Role

Discover how Jasen Esposito, a former NFL lineman and hometown right-hand man, transitioned from the football field to protecting pop sensation Taylor Swift.

Former NFL lineman Jasen Esposito says his second act after football started with an unusual assignment: protecting Taylor Swift.

On Ross Tucker’s podcast, Esposito said he was the one put in charge of security for Swift early in her career, after a call from her father, Scott Swift. The former Buffalo Bills offensive lineman said his playing days ended in 2005, and not long after that he got the request that sent him from the trenches to the autograph line.

“He calls me up and asked me what I was doing Saturday afternoon…”

Esposito said Scott Swift then told him, “…need you to stand by Taylor for her autograph signing hour…”

At the time, Esposito was a 6-foot-4, 300-pound former lineman who fit the role Scott Swift had in mind. He said yes and “stood next to Taylor the whole time.”

Esposito said the reason was simple: Swift had been hugged by a fan at a previous appearance, and her father wanted a “big intimidating guy” nearby. Esposito said Scott “thought of me right away,” and noted that he is a native of Reading, Pennsylvania, which is Swift’s hometown.

He also said Swift’s first tour bus was there at the autograph signing, and that she sang a few songs for the crowd. Esposito added that he also worked another gig in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Esposito entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Kutztown University. He signed with the New England Patriots and later spent two seasons on the Buffalo Bills practice squad.

Josh Allen Has Never Had A Better MVP Setup In Buffalo

Josh Allen has spent the past few years carrying a lot of the Bills offensive burden, but this training camp feels different. Buffalo has reshaped the setting around him, and the conversation around the leagues MVP race now starts with a quarterback who finally looks like he has a more complete support system in place. After another strong season, Allen is entering camp with the kind of setup that can turn a great individual year into a trophy case year.

The biggest reason is the help he now has outside. The Bills made a major move to give Allen a proven target, and the coaching change in Buffalo adds another layer to the equation as the offense adjusts to a new voice. In a race that also includes Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow, Allens case is no longer just about what he can do on his own. It is about whether Buffalo has built enough around him to let his best football show up when the spotlight gets brightest. [Read more 🡒]

Doug Flutie Still Divides Bills Fans In One All-Time Debate

Doug Fluties place in Bills history has always been a little more complicated than a simple ranking exercise. He belongs in the same broad conversation as Jim Kelly, Josh Allen and Joe Ferguson, and his football life stretched far beyond Buffalo, with a decorated run in the CFL and a long professional career that made him one of the sports most recognizable quarterbacks.

For Bills fans, though, the debate has never been just about rsum. Flutie helped guide Buffalo back to the playoffs in the late 1990s and left behind a legacy that still draws strong opinions whenever the franchises all-time quarterbacks come up. Even now, his name can split a room, which says as much about how much he mattered there as it does about the arguments that followed him. [Read more 🡒]

Former Bills Lineman Had An Unexpected Place In Taylor Swift's Circle

Taylor Swifts public appearances have long come with a familiar layer of security, and one of the people helping keep that circle tight is Jasen Esposito, a former NFL offensive lineman who has stayed close to her team for years. Esposito has built a second career in business and recruiting, but his path into Swifts orbit started in a very different lane, one that grew out of football, trust and a need for protection at a busy autograph signing event.

What makes the story stand out for Bills fans is the football tie behind the scenes, since Esposito spent part of his playing career in Buffalo before moving on to other stops. His role with Swift has endured ever since her father reached out to him after a previous incident raised concerns, and the arrangement has turned into one of those unexpected crossovers where an ex-lineman ends up guarding one of pop musics biggest stars.
