DJ Moore’s Week 3 status is trending the right way for the Buffalo Bills.
After the wideout went down in Week 2 with a shoulder injury that was later diagnosed as a sprained AC joint, there was real concern he could be looking at a longer absence. But Wednesday brought a more encouraging picture, with head coach Joe Brady saying Moore has a chance to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
“There will be guys that are not going to be out there at practice that we still feel good about them playing this week," Brady said of both Moore and Ed Oliver.

Moore also got on the field Wednesday, though he was wearing a red non-contact jersey. That detail matters: it means he’s not cleared for contact yet, even if the Bills are clearly leaving the door open for him to suit up.
“Bills WR DJ Moore is on the practice field in a non-contact jersey on Wednesday,” The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia reported.
The team has not put out its first injury report of the week yet, so the exact extent of his participation is still unknown. Even so, the early read is that Moore was limited at worst, which is enough to keep hope alive for Sunday.
That’s a much better place than the Bills were in after Week 2, when Moore was ruled out early against the Lions and never had a real chance to settle into the game. He had looked far more dangerous in Week 1, when he caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. That’s the version Buffalo expected when it traded for him from the Chicago Bears during the offseason.
If Moore can’t go, the Bills will need more from the group that picked up the slack against Detroit. Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer stepped up in ways that weren’t necessarily expected, especially after both struggled last season. Buffalo would also need Dalton Kincaid and Khalil Shakir to keep carrying part of the load.
