The Chargers’ offense is drawing heat after another frustrating night, and former Los Angeles nose tackle Breiden Fehoko didn’t hold back after Sunday’s 24-16 loss to the Bills.
Fehoko, who shared a locker room with Justin Herbert, took aim at the Chargers’ coaching staff on X after the defeat. “Joe Hortiz, Jim Harbaugh, & Mike McDaniel, this is all over the tape,” Fehoko wrote on X.
“Someone needs to be fired today. I don’t know who y’all can play Russian roulette but someone has to go.”
The criticism came on a day when the Chargers’ defense did its part. Under rookie defensive coordinator Chris O'Leary, the unit forced five turnovers, yet the offense managed only 10 points. That left the Chargers with a loss despite the Bills’ strange night - Buffalo had dropped its previous 16 games when it turned the ball over five or more times.
Even with the offense under the microscope, Harbaugh wasn’t interested in pinning the loss on that side of the ball.
“I’m not singling out anybody," Harbaugh said. "We win these games as a team.
We lose as a team. Not where we want to be.
Only one way to correct it: Just keep chipping away.”
The defeat pushed the Chargers to 0-3, a start that has already dented their postseason hopes. Harbaugh said the team still has reason to believe a turnaround can come, even while admitting the Chargers have not met the standard.
“What gives me hope is the people,” Harbaugh said. “There's no denying the want-to, and the fight is there.
And that's building. They're chipping at that.
No question, we haven't been good enough yet.”
The Chargers now head to the road for Week 4, where they’ll face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
