The Buffalo Bills' head coaching search is heating up, and the list of candidates continues to grow.
The latest name to enter the mix is Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski. According to reports, the Bills have officially requested an interview with Udinski, who now joins a diverse group of early contenders that includes Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, Bills interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady, former Giants head coach Brian Daboll, and Commanders run game coordinator and running backs coach Anthony Lynn.
Udinski is drawing attention around the league. In addition to Buffalo’s interest, he’s also scheduled for a second interview with the Cleveland Browns this week - the only team he’s formally interviewed with so far during this hiring cycle. That second meeting in Cleveland suggests he’s firmly on their radar, and Buffalo’s request only strengthens the sense that Udinski’s stock is rising.
His coaching résumé has been steadily building. Before taking over the Jaguars’ offense under Liam Coen in 2025, Udinski spent three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings as an assistant.
Prior to that, he got his NFL start with the Panthers, where he worked as a coaching assistant for two years. It’s a path that’s seen him touch multiple systems and philosophies - something that likely appeals to front offices looking for fresh ideas and adaptable leadership.
As the Bills evaluate their next move, they’re clearly casting a wide net. The candidate pool includes experienced names like Daboll and Lynn, both of whom have head coaching experience, as well as rising coordinators like Anarumo and Brady. But Udinski stands out as a young offensive mind who’s been steadily climbing the coaching ladder, and his recent work in Jacksonville has put him on the map.
Buffalo’s decision will be a critical one. With a talented roster and high expectations, the next head coach will be tasked with pushing this team from perennial playoff contender to legitimate Super Bowl threat. The search is still in its early stages, but names like Udinski suggest the Bills are open to both proven leaders and emerging talent as they look to chart the next chapter.
