The AFC has three undefeated teams left after three weeks, and the group is already separated by more than record alone. One of them is looking like a full-blown juggernaut, one is bouncing back in a big way, and one is playing far above the expectations that followed a miserable 2025 season. Two of those teams meet in Week 4, which only adds more juice to an already wild start to the year.
- Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders sit third here, though that’s not a knock so much as a reflection of how strong the top of this group has been. Even so, what Las Vegas has done over the first three weeks deserves real respect.
After finishing with the worst record in football last year and landing the 1st overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the bar for this season was basically on the floor. A rookie head coach, Kirk Cousins in place at quarterback, and a failed offseason trade involving pass rusher Maxx Crosby didn’t exactly point toward a fast start.
Instead, the Raiders have forced everyone to recalibrate. They just beat a high-powered New Orleans Saints offense on the road, and they already own convincing wins of 8-plus points over both the Chargers and Dolphins.
Klint Kubiak is making a legitimate case for NFL Coach of the Year, and the offense has hummed along without a true #1 receiver and with only one game from Brock Bowers so far. This team is fun, and that much is no longer up for debate.
- Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City has answered a rough 2025 season with a sharp rebound through three games.
The addition of Kenneth Walker after his Super Bowl MVP run has paid off exactly the way Chiefs fans hoped, but the biggest reason for the turnaround has been Patrick Mahomes. Coming back from such a major knee injury in just 9 months, Mahomes has looked every bit like himself again.
The Chiefs seemed to keep the passing game a little buttoned up in Week 1 against the Broncos, but after seeing how well Mahomes moved in that dominant home win over Denver, they’ve opened things up against both the Colts and Dolphins.
They still haven’t played perfect football, but this is absolutely a team that looks like a Super Bowl contender.

No one around the league has made a louder early MVP case than Josh Allen.
Buffalo stunned the NFL by not only beating the Houston Texans in Week 1, but doing it on the road while putting up 36 points against that defense. Then the Bills followed that by steamrolling the Detroit Lions in Week 2 on a short week.
Week 3 wasn’t clean - Buffalo coughed it up five times against the Los Angeles Chargers - but the Bills still won by 8 points. That’s the clearest sign yet that this team has built a serious cushion for error.
Josh Allen has already piled up 11 total touchdowns, with 5 passing and 6 rushing, and the Bills look incredibly difficult to knock off right now.
