Bills Fans Will Feel Mitch Morses Heartbreaking Family News

NFL player Mitch Morse mourns his brother Robbie, who overcame a challenging life with lasting disabilities to inspire those around him.

Mitch Morse shared heartbreaking news on Monday, revealing that his younger brother Robbie has died at 30.

The former NFL center, who retired in March 2025 after 10 seasons with the Chiefs, Bills and Jaguars, posted a message that focused less on football and more on family. Morse has remained close to Buffalo this fall through the team’s radio shows, but this note was personal from the start. He wrote that last week brought the loss of his brother and described Robbie’s life as “unique, and at times incredibly difficult.”

“Last week, we lost my brother Robbie at the age of 30. Robbie’s life was unique, and at times incredibly difficult. But through all of it, he was surrounded by family and friends who loved him profoundly.”

Morse added that the family takes comfort in believing Robbie is now “free, whole, and home with their Lord.” He ended the post with, “We love you, Robbo. Rest easy, buddy.”

The Bills responded by sending love, and the Jaguars did the same. Former teammates Mitch Trubisky and Eric Wood also offered prayers.

Robbie’s death closes a story the Morse family has lived with in public for years. Mitch was four when the injury happened in 1996, and the family has spoken about it openly ever since.

Robbie suffered severe brain trauma at four months old while in a babysitter’s care. Doctors ruled it a bilateral subdural hematoma, and the injury was consistent with an infant who had been severely shaken.

The babysitter, then 20, admitted to police that she shook him when he would not stop crying. She later reached a plea deal and did not serve prison time.

The injury left Robbie with serious intellectual and physical disabilities for the rest of his life.

In 2019, Kevin Morse told The Buffalo News that the family never turned toward revenge. He said people expected anger, but that never came.

“There’s never been a moment that we’ve thought about any kind of retribution. Not one moment.”

Morse told the same paper that the difficult stretches pulled the family closer together, and that he worked hard not to become another burden. He later supported the Bills’ work with the special-needs community and continued to include Robbie in the story through his years with the Chiefs and the Bills.

Bills Suddenly Have A Problem They May Need To Trade For

The Bills 29-26 loss to the Patriots did more than dent the standings. It also pushed a familiar concern back into the spotlight: a secondary that is being asked to hold up while the defense adjusts to Jim Leonhards system, all while injuries keep stripping away experienced options. Buffalo has had to lean on less seasoned defensive backs, and the results have made the back end look like a spot that could use help sooner rather than later.

With the trade deadline still on the horizon in 2026, the question is whether Buffalo waits for its current group to stabilize or starts looking outside the building for reinforcements. The need is obvious enough after a night like this, but the challenge is finding a move that actually fits both the Bills defense and the urgency created by a thin, banged-up secondary. Bills Face A Risky Tyreek Hill Decision With AFC Stakes

Tyreek Hill is expected to land with an NFL team soon after working his way back from a season-ending injury and being released by the Dolphins, and the Bills are one of the clubs that could wind up in the mix. NFL insider Albert Breer pointed to Buffalo and Kansas City as the two most obvious fits, which makes sense given how both early AFC contenders could use help at wide receiver and have enough ambition to think beyond simple depth.

For Buffalo, the appeal is obvious and the risk is just as clear. Hill would give the offense another dangerous weapon, but the Bills would also be weighing his recovery and age against the possibility that the Chiefs could get there first. In a conference where every edge matters, the decision is less about whether Hill can help and more about how much a contender wants to bet on what he still has left. [Read more 🡒]

Bills Fans Just Saw A Frustrating Kincaid Problem Get Exposed

The Bills left Week 4 with a 29-26 loss to New England and another reminder of how quickly a defense can take Dalton Kincaid out of the picture. Buffalos tight end was held to one catch for seven yards as the Patriots mixed zone and man coverage to keep the passing game from finding its usual rhythm underneath and in the middle of the field.

Mike Vrabel knows that approach may not translate so cleanly against Las Vegas, where Brock Bowers has already forced his way into the conversation as one of the leagues most dangerous young tight ends. The Patriots coach acknowledged the challenge of defending him, and for Buffalo fans, that only sharpens the frustration: if Kincaid can be squeezed out of a game this easily, the AFC picture gets a lot trickier when a matchup tight end is on the other side.
