Bills and Packers Target Rising Cardinals Coach for Key QB Role

A fast-rising offensive mind has caught the attention of two NFL franchises eyeing new leadership in their quarterbacks room.

The Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers are both doing their homework this offseason, and one name that’s popped up on their radar is Connor Senger. According to reports, both teams have requested interviews with the Arizona Cardinals passing game coordinator for their quarterbacks coach vacancy-a sign that Senger’s rapid rise through the coaching ranks is turning heads across the league.

Senger’s coaching journey is the kind of football ladder climb that doesn’t happen without serious football IQ and a knack for developing quarterbacks. He started back in 2017 as the quarterbacks coach at Wisconsin-Oshkosh, followed by a one-year stint in the same role at Carroll University. From there, he took on the running backs coach job at Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2019, showing early on that he was willing to diversify his coaching résumé.

But it was his move to South Dakota State that really began to shape his trajectory. Serving as the offensive quality control coordinator for two seasons, Senger got a taste of high-level offensive planning and the kind of detail-oriented work that often serves as a springboard to the NFL. That springboard came in 2022, when he joined the Arizona Cardinals as part of the Bill Bidwill Fellowship-a program designed to provide opportunities for young, promising coaches.

Arizona clearly liked what they saw. Senger was promoted to offensive quality control coach in 2023, then moved up to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2024, and finally took over as passing game coordinator in 2025. That’s a meteoric rise in just a few seasons, and it speaks volumes about how he’s viewed inside the building.

Now, with both the Bills and Packers looking to bring in fresh minds to work with their quarterbacks, Senger’s name is in the mix. Whether it’s Buffalo, where the offense is looking to evolve around a franchise QB, or Green Bay, where the development of young talent remains a priority, Senger’s background in quarterback development and offensive scheming makes him an intriguing candidate.

This is the kind of under-the-radar coaching move that doesn’t make headlines now but could pay major dividends down the line. Keep an eye on where Senger lands-he’s a name we might be hearing a lot more in the coming years.
