Bills Add New Quarterbacks Coach With Play Calling Experience

With a wealth of experience across college and NFL sidelines, Bo Hardegree is set to take over as the Bills' new quarterbacks coach in a pivotal offseason move.

The Bills are making a change in their quarterback room-on the coaching side, at least.

Buffalo is set to hire Bo Hardegree as its new quarterbacks coach, bringing in a veteran assistant with a diverse NFL résumé and recent play-calling experience. Hardegree steps in to replace Ronald Curry, who held the position for the past two seasons. As of now, there’s no official word on whether Curry will remain with the organization in another capacity or move on.

Hardegree, 41, arrives in Buffalo after spending the last two seasons stepping into interim play-caller duties in high-pressure situations. In 2024, he took over midseason with the Raiders after Luke Getsy was let go.

Then in 2025, he assumed play-calling responsibilities from head coach Brian Callahan and retained those duties even after Callahan was dismissed. That kind of adaptability and command under fire speaks volumes about how he’s viewed within coaching circles.

His career path has taken him through some of the league’s most storied franchises. He’s held offensive assistant roles with the Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Bears, and Broncos-giving him a wide-angle view of offensive systems and quarterback development philosophies. That experience should serve him well in Buffalo, where the expectations around quarterback play are sky-high.

This move signals a continued commitment by the Bills to refine and elevate their offensive operation. With a franchise quarterback already in place, the addition of a coach like Hardegree-someone who’s not only seen the inner workings of multiple offenses but has also called plays under pressure-could be a valuable asset in sharpening the unit’s execution and consistency.

There’s still some clarity needed regarding Curry’s future, but for now, the Bills are bringing in a new voice to the quarterback room-one with a track record of stepping up when it matters most.
