Andre Reed is no stranger to making memories in Buffalo. The Hall of Fame wide receiver spent 15 of his 16 NFL seasons with the Bills, carving out a legacy as one of the franchise’s all-time greats.
Now, he’s teaming up with Bud Light to toast the fans who’ve stood by the team through every snowstorm, heartbreak, and miracle win. The result?
A limited-edition beer called “Blizzard Brew,” made with actual snow from Highmark Stadium. Yes, you read that right-snow from the home turf.
This isn’t just a marketing gimmick-it’s a tribute to Bills Mafia, the famously loyal (and famously rowdy) fanbase that’s become a cultural force in its own right. Whether they’re jumping through tables or digging out the stadium after a blizzard, Bills fans have built a reputation for going all-in. And Bud Light is leaning all the way into that identity.
“It’s no secret Bills Mafia is one of the most passionate fanbases in sports,” said Todd Allen, SVP of Marketing for Bud Light at Anheuser-Busch. “That dedication is on full display when they show up to Highmark Stadium with shovels in hand. We couldn’t be more honored to show up for Bills fans by creating a brew that both showcases and celebrates their years of commitment to the team.”
The beer, which comes in a 16 oz. can, will be available at Highmark Stadium on January 4-the same day the Bills play their final regular season game at the venue. It’ll also be available around Buffalo, but don’t be surprised if most fans decide to keep the can sealed and on the shelf. This isn’t just a drink-it’s a keepsake.
Highmark Stadium has been the heart of Buffalo football for over half a century. It opened in 1973 as Rich Stadium and went through several name changes-Ralph Wilson Stadium, New Era Field, and briefly Bills Stadium-before becoming Highmark.
But after 52 seasons, the team is set to move into a brand-new stadium just across the street next year. That makes this final home game more than just another date on the schedule.
It’s the end of an era.
Reed will be there for the send-off, joined by a few surprise guests from his playing days. “The last regular season game for Highmark is on January 4.
I actually will be there with a couple other surprise players that I played with,” Reed said. “It’ll be great to see them and take Highmark out-the way it should be taken out.”
For Reed, the moment is personal. “A lot of great memories,” he said, reflecting on the nearly six decades of football played at the stadium. “So it’s a good send-off with this partnership with Bud Light, the Bills, and the Blizzard Beer.”
Of course, Reed couldn’t help but look ahead. With the Bills still in the playoff hunt, there’s a chance the stadium could get one more game before the curtain officially falls. “Hopefully, we have a playoff game coming,” he said.
Either way, January 4 promises to be a celebration-of the past, the fans, and the frozen legacy of Buffalo football. And thanks to a little snow in a can, Bills Mafia will have one more way to raise a toast to the team they love. Just remember, as Reed reminded everyone: “Drink responsibly.”
