Nets Suffer Painful Collapse As Coach Speaks Out

Despite showcasing promise against the Warriors, the Nets' struggles with shooting and key lineup decisions ultimately led to their narrow defeat.

The Brooklyn Nets seemed poised to break their losing streak with a strong performance against the Golden State Warriors. Leading by nine points in the fourth quarter, it looked like Brooklyn was on track to secure their first win since March 9. However, the game slipped away in the final moments, leaving fans and players frustrated.

Head coach Jordi Fernandez shared his thoughts on the tough 109-106 loss. "We struggled to find those open shots from beyond the arc," Fernandez noted.

"We could have taken more threes, and the free-throw disparity was glaring. They had 15 more attempts than us."

Despite shooting an impressive 48.1% from the field, the Nets faltered in the crucial fourth quarter. Fernandez reflected on the team's struggles, questioning whether their youth was a factor.

"I see this pattern repeatedly, and it's frustrating," he admitted. "It's something I need to address.

I'm not upset about their free throws; I'm concerned about us only getting 21. We have to move on and improve."

The Nets held an 82-70 lead with just over two minutes left in the third quarter. However, they couldn't maintain that momentum into the fourth. Their shooting cooled off to 40.0%, while the Warriors caught fire, hitting 62.5% of their shots and earning 12 trips to the free-throw line.

Brooklyn is focusing on developing their young talent, especially now that postseason hopes are off the table. This was evident as players like Ziaire Williams, Terance Mann, and Nic Claxton sat out the final quarter. While the Nets showed progress against a formidable opponent, their inexperience proved costly in the end.
