As Super Bowl LX approaches, the New England Patriots aren’t heading into the big game alone - they’ve got the full weight of Boston sports behind them. From the parquet to the pitch, the city’s biggest franchises are rallying around the Patriots, showing love and unity in a way only Boston knows how.
The Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, and Revolution all took to social media on Sunday to send their support, each adding their own flavor to the pregame hype. The Celtics dropped a nod to their mascot Hugo, suited up and saluting the Patriots on the tarmac.
The Bruins chimed in with a rallying cry from “some patriots to the @Patriots,” while the Red Sox kept it simple and intense: “IT’S GAMEDAY‼️ We all we got.
We all we need.” That same mantra echoed through the Revolution’s message, tying together the city’s sports culture in a unified front.
Even Boston Legacy FC, the city’s NWSL expansion team, joined the chorus, calling it a “beautiful day for a big game” and backing the Patriots with some muscle emojis and hometown pride.
And then there was Derrick White - the Celtics guard who found himself (somewhat reluctantly) in Patriots gear, thanks to a playful post from his team. “Lookin good champ,” the Celtics teased, tagging White in a photo that showed him decked out in a Patriots jersey. It’s the kind of good-natured camaraderie that defines Boston’s tight-knit sports community.
The Patriots themselves leaned into that spirit with a star-studded pregame hype video that dropped on Friday. It was a who’s who of New England legends and icons - Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Randy Moss, Ty Law, Adam Vinatieri, Willie McGinest, and Tedy Bruschi all made appearances, each representing different eras of Patriots greatness. Malcolm Butler, the hero of Super Bowl XLIX, was there too, alongside current team captain David Andrews.
But the love wasn’t limited to the gridiron. Boston sports royalty from across the spectrum showed up: David Ortiz brought the Big Papi energy, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown repped the Celtics, and the Bruins were well represented with David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, and Zdeno Chara. Even Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kofi Kingston, Mark Wahlberg, and Kenny Chesney joined the celebration - a mix of sports, entertainment, and Boston-born pride.
It’s a full-on citywide send-off as the Patriots prepare to take on the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
ET on NBC, and while the game will be played in California, make no mistake - Boston will be in the building in spirit. From Fenway to TD Garden, from Gillette to the Garden again, the message is loud and clear: New England’s behind its team.
All in. All heart.
All we got. All we need.
