Boston College defensive lineman Josiah Griffin has earned a spot on the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, with the announcement coming Monday in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Griffin’s selection adds another line to a college career that has blended production, academics and service. A four-year member of the Eagles program, he has appeared in 18 career games and has posted three tackles, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
He also picked off his first pass last season after getting a hand on a throw against SMU. Griffin is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team member.
What separates Griffin’s profile is everything he has done away from the stat sheet. Over his four seasons on The Heights, he has been involved in several community efforts tied to the football program. That includes weekly in-season work with Team IMPACT in Quincy, Mass., along with the Team IMPACT Field Day in June.
He also took part in the Beautiful Lives Project’s “Field of Dreams” event in June, an experience that gave dozens of individuals with special needs and full-time care the chance to share the field with him and other Eagles players. Griffin also helped Boston College Football raise thousands of dollars through Adopt-A-Child for children and families in need.
The Springfield, Mass. native is one of 16 ACC nominees and the conference ranked second among all conferences with 16 total nominations. In all, 162 student-athletes nationwide were recognized for leadership in service, academics and athletics.
