Boston College’s Eva Kluskens Earns Second All-American Nod After Standout Senior Season

It’s been a stellar ride for Boston College senior midfielder Eva Kluskens, and the accolades just keep coming. On Tuesday morning, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) named Kluskens to the Division I All-American Third Team, marking the second All-American honor of her collegiate career.

Kluskens has been a steady force in the Eagles’ midfield all season long, starting all 16 games and serving as a key playmaker on both ends of the field. Her six points may not jump off the stat sheet at first glance, but dig a little deeper and you’ll see her fingerprints all over Boston College’s success in 2025. She led the team with four assists and chipped in one goal-an efficient, team-first stat line that speaks to her role as a connector and facilitator in the middle of the pitch.

Her standout moment came in a win over New Hampshire, where she notched a career-high four points with a goal and two assists. That performance wasn’t just a flash in the pan-it was a snapshot of what she’s brought to this program all year: vision, leadership, and a knack for rising to the occasion.

Kluskens’ All-American selection caps off a season filled with individual recognition. She was also named to the NFHCA First-Team All-Region and earned Second-Team All-ACC honors-no small feat in one of the most competitive conferences in the country. On top of that, she was selected to the NFHCA Collegiate Senior Team, an honor reserved for standout veterans who’ve made a lasting impact on the game.

The All-American teams, announced Tuesday, featured 48 of the nation’s top collegiate players across three tiers. The First Team included household names like Ryleigh Heck (North Carolina), Beth Yeager (Princeton), and Maddie Zimmer (Northwestern), while the Second Team spotlighted talents such as Josie Hollamon (Maryland) and Makenna Webster (Ohio State). Kluskens joins a Third Team packed with rising stars from across the country, including Olivia Bent-Cole (Northwestern), Gabrielle Benkenstein (UMass Amherst), and Pilar Mengotti (Fairfield).

For Kluskens, this recognition is more than just a personal milestone-it’s a testament to the work she’s put in over four years and the leadership role she’s embraced in her final season. She’s been the kind of player every coach wants anchoring the midfield: reliable, smart, and unselfish. And now, she finishes her collegiate career right where she belongs-among the best in the nation.
