Boston College Women’s Tennis Stays Perfect With 5-2 Win Over Army

WEYMOUTH, Mass. - Boston College capped off its opening weekend with a confident 5-2 win over Army on Saturday night, moving to 2-0 on the season and showing signs of a team that’s finding its rhythm early.

The tone was set right from the doubles courts, where the Eagles wasted no time asserting themselves. The freshman duo of Bella Camacho and Leyden Games came out firing, cruising to a 6-1 win.

Not far behind them, the experienced pairing of Seren Agar and Tola Glowacka delivered a 6-2 victory, locking up the doubles point for BC with authority. While the No. 2 doubles team of Olivia Benton and Natalie Eordekian fell short, it didn’t change the outcome - the Eagles had already secured the early 1-0 edge.

From there, Boston College kept the momentum rolling into singles play. At the top of the lineup, Olivia Benton looked composed and in control, dispatching Army’s Venn Mathivanan 6-3, 6-1. Nadia Barteck followed with a steady performance of her own at No. 4, earning a 6-2, 6-2 win that gave BC a commanding lead.

Camacho, fresh off her doubles win, continued to impress in her singles debut. The freshman blanked her opponent in the first set and closed out a 6-0, 6-3 win at the No. 5 spot - a performance that speaks volumes about her potential in this lineup.

With the match already clinched, Olivia Cutone added another point for the Eagles at No. 6 singles, grinding out a 6-2, 7-6 win in a tight second set.

Army did push back in a couple of spots. Emma Sy took down Natalie Eordekian 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and Emily Ruckno edged out Leyden Games in a third-set tiebreak at No.

  1. But by then, the outcome was already in hand for Boston College.
