Eagles Star Hutchins Accepts Major Bowl Invite Ahead of Draft Season

Boston College standout Quintayvious Hutchins adds his name to a growing list of Eagles earning national recognition ahead of the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl.

Boston College’s Quintayvious Hutchins Earns Shrine Bowl Invite, Capping a Steady Climb

CHESNUT HILL, Mass. - Quintayvious Hutchins is heading to Frisco.

The redshirt senior defensive end from Boston College has accepted an invitation to the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl, giving him a well-earned shot to showcase his game in front of NFL scouts and coaches on one of college football’s biggest pre-draft stages.

For Hutchins, this isn’t just a nice accolade - it’s the culmination of five years of steady growth, grit, and leadership in Chestnut Hill. After arriving on campus and working his way up the depth chart, Hutchins became a key piece of the Eagles’ defensive front.

His 2025 season saw him start nine of the 10 games he played, racking up 35 tackles, seven quarterback hits, and a pair of sacks. Those numbers don’t just show up on a stat sheet - they show up on film, where Hutchins’ motor and physicality consistently popped off the screen.

This past year also marked a personal milestone: Hutchins was named a team captain for the first time in his career. That kind of locker room respect doesn’t come easy, especially in a program that prides itself on toughness and accountability. It speaks volumes about how his teammates and coaches view him - not just as a player, but as a leader.

Looking back at his 2024 campaign, Hutchins was just as impactful. He played in all 13 games, made seven starts, and posted 31 tackles, eight quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. That kind of production - especially the ability to create havoc and flip momentum - is exactly what NFL teams want to see in a rotational edge rusher or developmental defensive end.

Over the course of his five-year career at Boston College, Hutchins logged 40 games with 16 starts. That experience matters.

He’s seen a lot of football, lined up against top-tier offensive lines, and weathered the highs and lows of ACC competition. Now, he gets a chance to take all of that with him to the Shrine Bowl, where he’ll work directly with NFL coaches, train in an NFL facility, and go head-to-head with some of the top talent in the country.

Hutchins also continues a strong recent tradition for Boston College. He’s the sixth Eagle in the past two seasons to earn an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Earlier this year, offensive linemen Jude Bowry and Logan Taylor were also selected. Last year, the Eagles sent three players - Jack Conley, Cam Horsley, and Drew Kendall - to the event.

Since 2018, Boston College has had at least one representative at the Shrine Bowl every year, a testament to the program’s ability to consistently develop NFL-caliber talent.

The 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl will take place on January 27 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas - home of the Dallas Cowboys’ training facility. It’s not just a game; it’s a week-long opportunity for players like Hutchins to prove they belong at the next level. And if his college career is any indication, he’s going to make the most of it.
