Boston Colleges Next Shot At Ranked Pitt Just Got More Real

Boston College prepares to face a formidable undefeated Pitt team as the Eagles aim to break their losing streak in a high-stakes ACC showdown.

Boston College’s Week 7 date with Pitt now has a kickoff time, and the Eagles will get the noon slot.

The ACC announced Monday morning that Boston College will host No. 25 Pitt on Saturday, Oct. 17 at noon ET at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The game will air on ESPN.

BC heads into the matchup at 2-3 overall and 0-2 in ACC play. The Eagles started the season with a 34-15 loss at Cincinnati on Sept. 5, then strung together back-to-back wins over Rutgers, 28-21 on Sept. 11, and Maine, 22-16 on Sept. 19.

That momentum has since stalled. Boston College dropped its last two games, falling 21-14 at Virginia Tech on Sept. 26 and then losing 25-16 to No. 24 SMU on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles will have this weekend off before meeting Pitt.

The Panthers, meanwhile, are rolling. Pitt is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in ACC play after wins over Miami Ohio, 59-14 on Sept.

5, UCF, 12-7 on Sept. 12, Syracuse, 27-13 on Sept.

17, Bucknell, 59-0 on Sept. 26, and Virginia Tech, 35-33 on Friday night.

Pitt still has one more game before coming to Chestnut Hill, with UNC on deck Saturday afternoon at noon.

This will be the 36th meeting between Boston College and Pitt. The Panthers lead the all-time series 19-16, and the most recent matchup came on Oct. 4, 2025, when Pitt won 48-7.

The BC-Pitt kickoff was part of a larger wave of Week 7 announcements from the conference on Monday. Other matchups set for that week include Virginia at SMU at noon on The CW, Charleston Southern at Clemson at noon on ACC Network, North Carolina at Duke at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2, Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech at 3:30 p.m. on ACC Network, Florida State at No. 4 Miami at 7 p.m. on ESPN, Louisville at Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. on ACC Network, and Wake Forest at California at 10:30 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2.

Stanford’s home game against Elon, also scheduled for Oct. 17, was previously announced for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ACCNX.

Boston College Sailing Keeps Stacking Strong Finishes Across Busy Weekend

Boston College sailing kept itself on the move over a packed weekend, spreading its roster across four regattas and collecting another set of solid team results. The Eagles were in contention throughout the BU Invite, the George Warren Smith Trophy and the Danmark Trophy, while also getting a look at championship-level competition in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1 B. Across the board, different skippers and crews contributed in the A and B divisions, giving Boston College a broad showing of depth as the fall schedule continues to build.

The most encouraging part for the Eagles is how often they stayed near the front while juggling so many events at once. There were strong finishes at BU and at George Warren Smith, along with a fifth-place effort at Danmark, and the experience in the women's conference qualifier added another layer to the weekend. For a program trying to keep momentum in a busy stretch, that kind of steady presence across multiple regattas matters just as much as any single result. [Read more 🡒]

Boston College Tennis Built Real Momentum Ahead Of Its Next Test

Boston College womens tennis left the Harvard Fall Classic with a strong early-season foundation, using the three-day event from Oct. 2-4 to sharpen its doubles and singles play against a quality field. The Eagles posted a 6-3 mark in doubles and a 12-7 record in singles, the kind of balanced showing that suggests the roster is settling in nicely as the fall schedule starts to build.

Bella Camacho and Tola Glowacka formed one of the steadier pairs in the draw, and Camacho also turned in a spotless run in singles. The next chance to measure that momentum comes at the ITA Regional Championships at Yale next week, where Boston College will try to carry the same edge into a bigger test. [Read more 🡒]

Boston College Just Got An Early Answer On Its Fall Depth

Boston Colleges fall ball work offered an early look at a roster that is still sorting itself out, and the Eagles kept building momentum with an 8-7 win over UConn. Julio Solier helped set the tone with three hits, including a 390-foot home run, while the lineup showed enough pop to back up a pitching effort that was rolling for most of the afternoon.

The staff turned in seven scoreless innings before finally getting touched in the eighth, a reminder that the biggest value of fall games is often in the small samples and fresh faces. Champ Davis and Brayden Ryan both made their fall debuts in important late-game roles, giving Boston College a little more to evaluate as it starts to answer deeper questions about how the pitching staff will line up.
