Boston College kept rolling in Hanover on Saturday, handling Binghamton in straight sets to pick up its second win of the Dartmouth Invitational at Leede Arena.
The Eagles won 25-12, 25-21, 25-19 and improved to 9-1 overall, while also moving to 4-2 all-time against the Bearcats. It was Boston College’s second victory over an America East opponent this season.
Audrey Ross set the tone at the net, finishing with a match-high 17 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. She also added 13 digs and five block.
Sam Hoppes was efficient with nine kills on a .471 clip, and Sofija Marjanovic matched him with nine kills of her own while hitting .400. Lucie Vesela and Lucy Mott shared the setting load, each posting 19 assists.
Brooklyn Yelland contributed 11 digs and two service aces, while Vesela led the match with three aces.
Boston College had to shake off a quick start from Binghamton in the opening set, as the Bearcats scored the first three points. The Eagles answered with a 5-0 burst, sparked by a Vesela ace, and soon took control.
Yelland’s serve helped BC put together a 6-0 run that featured back-to-back aces and Ross kills, stretching the lead to 20-10. Vesela closed the frame with another ace as the Eagles rolled, 25-12.
The second set gave Binghamton more life. Four service aces helped the Bearcats jump ahead 8-5 before BC pulled even at 10-10 on kills from Reese Dunkle and Marjanovic.
Locked at 14-14, the Eagles made the decisive move with a 4-0 run. Isabelle Poehlein and Ross finished points on the attack, and Poehlein teamed with Naomi Watson for a block that pushed Boston College in front 18-14.
Binghamton trimmed the gap to one, but Ross, Hoppes, Poehlein, and Marjanovic all delivered late kills to finish off the set, 25-21.
Boston College put the match away in the third. A 4-0 run, capped by a Tiani Shaw ace and consecutive blocks from Hoppes and Dunkle, created early separation and made it 9-4.
The Eagles kept extending the margin, reaching 13-6 after a block by Dunkle and Ross. Binghamton managed one last push to get within 22-18, but kills from Poehlein and Hoppes brought up match point, and a Bearcat attacking error ended it at 25-19.
Boston College finished with a .377 hitting percentage as a team and held Binghamton to .144.
The Eagles close out the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday afternoon against host Dartmouth at 3 p.m. in Leede Arena. The game is available to stream on ESPN+.

Boston College got the result it needed against Maine, but it did not come with much comfort in a 22-16 escape at Alumni Stadium in Week 3. The Eagles mixed rushing and passing touchdowns and did enough offensively to stay in front, yet the game was defined just as much by turnovers and defensive sloppiness as it was by the scoring plays that helped them edge an FCS opponent.
The late stages only added to the uneasy feeling around it, with Maine keeping the pressure on and finding a way to make the finish tense.
