In a spirited matchup at Conte Forum, Boston College women's basketball faced a tough 79-65 loss to Wake Forest in their final home game of the season. The Eagles now stand at 5-25 overall and 1-16 in ACC play, while the Demon Deacons level their record at 14-14 and 4-12 in conference action.

Before the game, Boston College celebrated its seven seniors and two managers, marking a poignant Senior Day.

Lily Carmody led the charge for the Eagles, scoring 14 points with five field goals and a flawless 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Her defensive prowess was on display with a game-high five steals, complemented by three assists. Amirah Anderson provided a spark off the bench, hitting four 3-pointers to tally 12 points.

Kayla Rolph contributed 11 points and dominated the boards with eight rebounds, while Jocelyne Grier added 10 points, rounding out the Eagles' double-digit scorers.

The game began with both teams exchanging baskets, but after Kiera Edmonds tied it up at 10-10 with a layup, Wake Forest went on a 16-5 run, ending the first quarter with a 26-15 lead.

Wake Forest maintained their momentum in the second quarter, holding a steady double-digit lead and heading into halftime with a 40-29 advantage. Athena Tomlinson's late 3-pointer trimmed a 14-point deficit, giving BC a glimmer of hope.

Rolph opened the third quarter with a three-pointer, bringing the Eagles within single digits. However, Wake Forest quickly responded, extending their lead once more and entering the final quarter up 60-46.

In the fourth, the Eagles showed resilience. Freshmen Anderson and Grier connected on three straight possessions from beyond the arc, narrowing the gap to five points at 60-55. The teams exchanged 3-pointers, but Wake Forest regained control in the last 6:33, pulling away to secure the victory.

Boston College will conclude their regular season next Sunday at 2 p.m. on the road against Syracuse.
