Boston College Locks In Two Key 2027 Recruits Ahead of Visit Season

With recruiting season heating up, Boston College prepares to host two highly touted Class of '27 prospects with ties and talent worth watching.

Boston College is starting to shape its recruiting board for the Class of 2027, and two notable prospects have already locked in official visits for early June. Cornerback Jett Watson out of Grayson High School in Georgia and running back Xavier Bala from St. Anthony’s in New York are both set to visit Chestnut Hill the weekend of June 5th - a key date on the recruiting calendar as official visit season kicks into gear.

Let’s start with Watson. The 6-foot-1 defensive back is a three-star recruit with a growing list of Power Five offers, including Auburn, NC State, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas State, UNC, and UCF.

He’s not just another name in the database either - Watson is the son of Boston College general manager Kenyatta Watson, adding a layer of familiarity between the player and the program. The Eagles extended an offer to him back in January, and now they'll get the chance to make their pitch in person.

On the offensive side, Bala brings a different kind of firepower. At 6-foot, 215 pounds, the three-star back has been a workhorse for St.

Anthony’s, racking up 1,312 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns last season. That kind of production doesn’t go unnoticed - he holds 16 offers, including big names like Nebraska, Alabama, Ohio State, Virginia, Syracuse, and Illinois.

Boston College has been in pursuit for some time, and the recent arrival of running backs coach Mike Hart only intensified that interest. Hart wasted no time visiting Bala shortly after stepping into his new role, a clear sign that the Eagles are prioritizing the New York standout.

The official visit window this spring runs from late May through June 22nd, after which the NCAA enters a dead period where in-person visits are off-limits until the season begins. That makes these early June visits critical for programs looking to solidify their standing with top targets before the summer lull.

As it stands, Boston College has five verbal commitments in the Class of 2027. With Watson and Bala now on the calendar for June 5th, the Eagles are looking to build momentum heading into a pivotal stretch of the recruiting cycle.

This is the time when relationships are built, impressions are made, and future rosters begin to take shape. Keep an eye on Chestnut Hill - things are starting to heat up.
