Boston College Men's Golf Heads to Maridoe Invitational
As the Boston College Men's Golf team gears up for their final regular season tournament before the ACC Championships, they're setting their sights on the Maridoe Invitational. Hosted by North Texas, this event will take place from March 28-30 at the challenging Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas.
Teeing Off at Maridoe
The action kicks off Monday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. EST, covering two rounds on the opening day.
Maridoe Golf Club is no ordinary course. With its 18-hole, par-72 championship layout stretching over 7,800 yards from the back tees, it stands as one of the longest courses in Texas.
The course is intricately designed across the rolling Blackland prairie, wrapping around a picturesque 25-acre lake that influences play on several holes. Here, strategic shot placement and risk-reward decisions are the name of the game.
A Course of Challenges
Reopened in 2017 and crafted by architect Steve Smyers, Maridoe emphasizes firm and fast playing conditions. Golfers will face tightly mown runoffs, expansive native areas, and large, contoured greens that demand precision in approach shots and creativity in the short game. The course offers a mix of lengthy par 4s, strategic par 5s, and well-defended par 3s, ensuring a varied and challenging round for all competitors.
