Boston College gets one last crack at a statement result Thursday night, closing the 2026 regular season at home against No. 17 Stanford at 6 p.m. on Newton Campus Soccer Field.
The Eagles come in with momentum after a 2-1 road win over No. 12 Louisville on Sunday, Nov. 1, a result that pushed BC to 10-4-2 overall and 3-4-2 in ACC play.
Emily Mara got the scoring started in the third minute with her fifth goal of the season, and Nico Kiorpes added what proved to be the winner in the 52nd minute on a penalty kick, her ninth goal of the year. Louisville answered in the 87th minute, but Boston College finished the job.
Olivia Shippee made five saves in the victory, and the Eagles posted nine shots, four on goal, along with eight corner kicks.
That result carried extra weight for BC. It was the program’s first win over a nationally ranked opponent since Oct. 7, 2018, when the Eagles beat No.
23 NC State, 2-0. It also snapped a run against Louisville, giving Boston College its first win over the Cardinals since 2021.

Stanford has matched BC with 37 goals through 16 matches and a 2.31 goals-per-game average, but the Cardinal have been stingier at the back, allowing just 13 goals. Charlotte Kohler leads Stanford with eight goals and seven assists for 23 points, including two game-winning goals.

Boston College Suddenly Has A Chance To Expose Florida State
Boston College gets Florida State at a moment when the Seminoles are trying to steady themselves after a three-game losing streak and a coaching change. Mike Norvell is out, Rick Stockstill is in as the interim coach, and the Eagles will host a team suddenly trying to reset its footing while still dealing with the kind of turbulence that can spill into a game week.
For Boston College, the timing creates a chance to measure itself against a vulnerable opponent and keep building on a season that has already surpassed last years win total. The Eagles are also coming off a significant loss to Duke, so this matchup offers a useful response game as much as an opportunity to catch Florida State at a difficult crossroads. [Read more 🡒]
Boston Colleges New-Look Roster Showed Something Fans Will Want To See
Boston Colleges season opener gave an early look at what a new roster can look like when it clicks. The Eagles handled Wagner 76-50, controlled the pace from the start and made the kind of defensive statement that usually travels well once the schedule gets tougher. They held Wagner to 30.4% shooting and looked organized enough to suggest there may be real balance in this group, not just one player carrying the load.
Money Williams was the headliner with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists, but he was far from alone. Armoni Zeigler and ak Smrekar also found double figures, giving Boston College multiple scoring options while the offense settled in around a steady tempo. For a team trying to establish its identity early, the opener offered a promising first answer and a reason for fans to keep watching how the rotation develops from here. [Read more 🡒]
Boston College Faces A Dangerous Florida State Test At The Worst Time
Boston College is heading into an ACC matchup that carries real weight for both sides, with bowl hopes and record improvement still very much in play. The Eagles are catching Florida State at a strange moment, though, because the Seminoles arrive with the usual talent and enough offensive punch to keep opponents uncomfortable even as the season has veered off course.
Florida State has already moved on from Mike Norvell, and the reset has not dulled the challenge much for Boston College. The Seminoles have continued to move the ball effectively and have shown they can still put pressure on a defense, which makes this feel like one of those late-season games where the timing matters as much as the matchup itself. For the Eagles, it is the kind of test that can either steady a push toward eligibility or make the road even steeper. [Read more 🡒]
