Boston College’s women’s golf team put itself in front after the opening day of the Red Bandanna Invitational, carding an 11-over-par total through 36 holes at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass.
Frances Kim set the pace for the Eagles and sits atop the leaderboard at 2-under. She delivered the round of the day for Boston College with a 3-under 69 in the second round, highlighted by an eagle at the ninth hole. Across the first day, Kim piled up nine birdies and took control heading into the final round.
Boston College also got key moments from the rest of the lineup. Rebecca Gyllner opened with an eagle on the eighth hole and finished the day with five birdies.
Joyce Zhang found her best rhythm in round two, posting a 73 with five birdies. Jun Xi Guo was steady over both rounds, shooting 75 and 76 while collecting two birdies in each.
Juliette Demeaux’s strongest round came in the opener, when she shot 74.
Competing as an individual, Ana Lucia Trevino made a move into the top five after a 1-under 71 in the second round. She finished the day strong, dominating the final eight holes.
Two Eagles players also made their collegiate debuts, with Riya Bapna and Grace Leber each flashing their best work in different rounds. Bapna opened with a 73, while Leber closed the day with a 74.
Sophie Bierstorfer also improved in round two and finished with four birdies heading into the final 18 holes.
Boston College will wrap up the tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 22, with tee times set between 8:30 and 10:36 a.m.

Boston Colleges start to the 2026 season has been defined by two problems the Eagles cannot afford to ignore for long: an offense that has struggled to stay on schedule and a defense that has too often given up chunk gains. The first three games have already produced a narrow win over Maine and losses to Cincinnati and Rutgers, and the underlying story has been the same throughout, with the Eagles repeatedly finding themselves in tough spots after mistakes or stalled drives.
Mason McKenzies early-season line has been especially telling, as the quarterback has thrown five interceptions while also leading the team in rushing yards. On the other side of the ball, Boston College has been forced to chase field position and momentum because of several long plays allowed, a combination that has left the Eagles with too little margin for error and a lot to clean up as the schedule moves on.
