A judge has issued a warrant for the immediate arrest of Jen Belichick, the daughter-in-law of Bill Belichick and the wife of UNC defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, after she failed to show up for a required court appearance tied to a speeding charge.
Court records show Jen Belichick was supposed to appear before a judge on July 10 over a misdemeanor citation, but when she did not attend the hearing, the warrant was issued. The case stems from a traffic stop in the Leland area, where state highway patrol officers say she was clocked driving a Jeep at 88 miles per hour in a 70-mile-per-hour zone on May 21.
Because of the speed involved, the court required her to appear in person. When that did not happen, the legal process escalated quickly. No public information has been released about her current status or whether she has been taken into custody.
