Another wave of former Celtics is heading overseas, and the list keeps growing.
The latest name to make the jump is Miles Norris, who the German club Bayern Munich announced as a new addition. Norris, a former Oregon Duck, landed in Boston during the 2024-25 season and took the two-way roster spot from Anton Watson, the rookie Boston selected in the second round.
Norris played in three regular-season games for the Celtics and averaged 2.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.7 minutes. After that, he suited up for the Sin City C’s at Summer League in 2025 and then signed with FC Barcelona. Now he’s moving on to one of Germany’s biggest clubs.
Norris is just the latest former Celtic to find a new home abroad. In late June, Xavier Tillman Sr. left the NBA for Trabzonspor Basketbol in Turkey. The veteran big man, who can slide between power forward and center, was part of Boston’s run to Banner 18.
Tillman had a real moment in Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals, burying a corner 3 that helped Boston take control. He also blocked Luka Doncic twice that night as the Celtics pushed out to a 3-0 series lead.
After finishing the 2025-26 campaign with the Charlotte Hornets, the 27-year-old is now set to join a Basketball Champions League team that has spent heavily this offseason. One of those additions was former NBA guard Shaquille Harrison.
Real Madrid has also added Max Shulga, another former Celtics draft pick. That move should bring a grin to Hugo Gonzalez, who got a reassuring message at Summer League. Gonzalez and Shulga came out of the same draft class, with Boston taking Gonzalez late in the first round and Shulga with its final pick.
Shulga now heads to Gonzalez’s former club, bringing the shot-making and tough defense that made him an appealing pick in the first place.
Torrey Craig is another ex-Celtic who has already taken his game overseas. He most recently played for the Sydney Kings, arriving in late January and helping a team that finished first in the regular-season standings before winning the NBL Grand Final.
Craig missed out on a Celtics championship by a year, but like the members of Boston’s 2023-24 title team, he’s now felt what it’s like to reach the top.
