Jaylen Brown Stuns Fans by Blasting Refs After Ejection from Spurs Game

Jaylen Brown's fiery critique of officiating resurfaces after a controversial ejection against the Spurs, reigniting debates over NBA refereeing.

In a highly anticipated matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, Celtics star Jaylen Brown found himself exiting earlier than expected. Brown, who had tallied eight points and seven rebounds in just 15 minutes, was ejected late in the second quarter after receiving two technical fouls for disputing a call.

The incident unfolded when Brown argued that he was fouled by Spurs guard Stephon Castle before stepping out of bounds, leading to a turnover. His protests to referee Tyler Ford resulted in a quick technical foul. Moments later, as Brown continued to express his frustration, another official, Suyash Mehta, issued a second technical, sealing his ejection.

Brown's displeasure was palpable, as teammates Sam Hauser and Baylor Scheierman had to intervene before he left the court. This marked only the second ejection in Brown's decade-long NBA career, the first being against the Knicks in 2023.

Brown didn't hold back on social media, posting his frustrations shortly after leaving the game. His absence was keenly felt in Boston's 125-116 loss, especially with the team already missing key players Payton Pritchard and Nikola Vucevic due to injuries.

This wasn't the first time Brown voiced his concerns about officiating. Earlier in the season, following a narrow loss to the Spurs at TD Garden, he openly criticized the referees, expressing his frustration over what he perceived as inconsistent calls.

The Celtics will need to regroup quickly, addressing both their on-court strategies and managing key player absences, as they continue their push in the season.
