USC is set to be part of a major new field-sponsorship push from Progressive, which is rolling out logo placements across 13 college football programs beginning with the 2026 season.
The insurance company’s deal, first reported by Sports Business Journal, is being described as “one of the most significant field logo sponsorships initiatives in college sports.” Learfield, the Texas-based marketing company that brokered the agreement, has not released the full details, but the pact is expected to be multiyear.
For USC, the branding change would likely mean a new look at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The school previously had a United Airlines Field logo at the 25-yard line, though it’s not yet official where Progressive’s mark will land. That’s especially notable because the Big Ten logo is already on the field, raising the question of where the new sponsor logo would fit.
Progressive’s presence won’t stop at the playing surface. The agreement also includes in-video game board features, in-venue LED signage, digital and social media integrations, and other game day experiences.
Shawn Hegan, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships at Learfield, said to On3’s Brian Jones: “College athletics offers brands a level of fan passion and loyalty that’s hard to match,” Hegan said. “This program gives Progressive a consistent presence across some of the biggest stages in the sport while creating meaningful connections with fans throughout the season.”
USC is one of four Big Ten schools in the group, joined by Iowa, Purdue, and Oregon. The full list also includes Boise State, Colorado, Georgia, Kansas State, Ole Miss, SMU, Syracuse, Texas Tech, and USC.
According to Ben Portnoy of SBJ, Progressive viewed the field logos as a media buy, underscoring the scale of the investment. Sean Freeman, media business leader at Progressive, said in a press release: “We are excited to be a part of the college football landscape with this investment.
It is an opportunity to support the collegiate student-athletes at these storied institutions as well as create a unique viewing experience for the fans. College football is ingrained in the cultures at these universities, and we are proud to be a small part of those traditions," said Sean Freeman, media business leader at Progressive in a press release.
The new branding is scheduled to debut when the 2026 season opens, which means USC fans could see it at the Coliseum when the Trojans face San José State in Week 0.

Boise States Pac-12 Move Just Cleared A Massive Financial Hurdle
The legal fight over Boise States path to the Pac-12 has finally been put to bed. For Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State, the agreement clears the way to move forward while sorting out the financial terms behind the exit. The settlement includes exit fees, withheld distributions and possible poaching penalties, giving both leagues and the schools a final framework after a long standoff that had threatened to stretch on even longer. Boise State Freshmen Are Already Forcing A Big Oregon Week Decision
Boise States highest-rated recruiting class in program history is already doing more than filling out the future. During fall camp, several freshmen have put themselves into the conversation for real roles, giving the staff a first look at how quickly the 2026 group can translate recruiting buzz into game-ready depth. Jones, Favors, Browne, Taylor and Soliai have all been part of that evaluation, with coaches sorting through readiness, physical traits and where each player fits best.
The early returns matter because Boise State does not have the luxury of waiting long to sort out its young talent. Some of these freshmen are pushing toward immediate contribution, and the way they handle camp will shape how much trust the Broncos can place in them when the season begins. There is already a sense that one of the biggest decisions of the opening stretch could come before the Broncos ever settle into the fall, which makes this a class worth watching closely.
