No. 20 Boise State is back home for the first time in nearly a month, and the betting market expects a tight but manageable night for the Broncos when Texas State comes to Albertsons Stadium on Halloween.
Boise State opened as a 12.5-point favorite over the Bobcats, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, and that number had dropped to 11.5 by Monday afternoon. The Broncos are also -425 on the moneyline, while Texas State sits at +330. The over/under opened at 65.5 points and has since moved to 63.5.
The Broncos head into the matchup at 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Pac-12 after a 31-10 road win over Washington State last Saturday, a game in which they pulled away in the fourth quarter. Texas State is 4-3 and 2-1.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. Mountain time.
Texas State brings an offense that has put up big numbers all season. The Bobcats rank fifth nationally in total offense at 517.7 yards per game and 18th in scoring offense at 37.1 points per game.
“Probably one of the most explosive teams we will see all season coming into The Blue,” Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson said of the Bobcats during Monday’s press conference. “They will put you in conflict.”
The centerpiece of that attack is quarterback Brad Jackson, who Danielson called the top dual-threat quarterback in the Pac-12. The third-year sophomore has completed 133 of 194 passes for 1,606 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions, and he has added 382 rushing yards and five scores on the ground.
“That quarterback is big-time,” Danielson said. “He’s their second-leading rusher, can make every throw. If everything is covered and he takes off, hold your stinking breath because he is explosive, he is tough.”
Texas State has been balanced offensively as well, with 17 rushing touchdowns and 15 passing touchdowns.
Boise State is 4-3 against the spread, while Texas State is 3-4.
All eight Pac-12 teams are scheduled to be in action Saturday. DraftKings opened Pac-12 co-leader Oregon State as a seven-point road favorite at Fresno State, though that line had moved to 5.5 points by Monday afternoon. Utah State is a 6.5-point favorite at home against Colorado State, and San Diego State is a 2.5-point home favorite over Washington State.
Game time: 8 p.m. Mountain time | Saturday, Oct. 31

Boise States Strong Finish Changes The Feel Of The Pac-12 Race
A road win in Pullman has kept Boise State right in the thick of the Pac-12 race, and the way the Broncos handled Washington State made the result feel bigger than just another conference victory. With the standings still crowded at the top alongside Oregon State, Boise State has now paired strong recent results with the kind of balanced team performance that travels well, leaning on the run game and a defense that made life difficult for the Cougars.
That matters even more with the schedule tightening and other league contenders dealing with their own swings in form, because every Saturday now seems to reshape the picture a little more. Boise States latest performance did more than protect its place near the top - it also added another layer of pressure to the teams chasing it, with the next stretch likely to say plenty about whether this early advantage holds. Spencer Danielson Just Gave Boise State Fans What They Needed
Spencer Danielson has done enough in a short time to make Boise State fans plenty comfortable with the direction of the program. A 30-9 start as head coach, three Mountain West championships and a trip to the College Football Playoff in 2024 have already put him in rare company, and his rise has naturally started to attract attention from programs looking for a new leader.
So when Danielson was connected to the Baylor opening after Dave Aranda was fired, it was the kind of outside noise that could have sparked real concern in Boise. Instead, he made clear where his focus is, stressing his commitment to the Broncos, the community and the future of the program. For a fan base that has watched him deliver on the field, the message was exactly the kind of reassurance it wanted. [Read more 🡒]
Boise States Playoff Edge Comes Down To One Massive Test
The playoff picture is still taking shape across college football, but Boise State has managed to move back into a more favorable position among the non-Power conference contenders as the seasons chaos keeps reshuffling the field. With parity running through the year and injuries already changing how teams are viewed, the Broncos have stayed in the mix while a projected 2026 bracket continues to sort out which conference champions and at-large teams deserve the final bids.
Boise States hold on that spot is hardly secure, though, and the next stretch could end up deciding whether the Broncos keep their edge or get caught in the crowd. A major test against Oregon State looms as the kind of game that can alter the entire race for the final playoff berth, especially with the debate around the 12th spot still wide open and several teams making their case.
