BOISE, Idaho - Boise State is adding another key piece to its football support staff, bringing in Josh Price as the new senior assistant director of sports performance, head coach Spencer Danielson announced Friday.
Price arrives in Boise with a résumé that’s quietly built a reputation in strength and conditioning circles. Most recently, he was at Oregon State, where he served as co-associate director of athletic performance.
There, he wasn’t just running weight room sessions - he played a major role in shaping training programs from top to bottom. That included overseeing return-to-performance protocols, a crucial piece of modern athlete care, especially in a sport as physically demanding as football.
He also played a hand in developing the next generation of performance coaches, working closely with intern education.
Before his time in Corvallis, Price was sharpening his skills at Appalachian State. As an assistant director of performance, he led efforts in power development and speed training for the Mountaineers’ football program. His role extended beyond just the physical - he was involved in return-to-play strategies and helped design programming for incoming freshmen, a key phase in helping young athletes adjust to the demands of college football.
Price’s foundation in the field was built at Arkansas State, where he started as a graduate assistant. Along with his performance duties, he also managed the program’s nutrition center - a role that speaks to his holistic approach to athlete development. He earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Arkansas State in 2023, after completing his undergraduate studies in exercise science.
This is a strategic hire for Boise State. As the Broncos continue to build under Danielson, adding someone like Price - who brings experience from multiple programs and a clear understanding of both the physical and recovery aspects of performance - signals a continued investment in elevating every facet of the program.
