Texas Tech Stuns No. 15 Baylor with a Dominant Performance in Lubbock

No. 15 Baylor falls to Texas Tech with a decisive 87-56 defeat, struggling with shooting and turnovers in a challenging road game.

In a tough night at United Supermarkets Arena, No. 15 Baylor women's basketball found themselves on the wrong end of an 87-56 scoreline against a red-hot Texas Tech team. The Lady Raiders came out firing, and Baylor couldn't quite keep pace.

From the jump, Texas Tech's offense was clicking, shooting an impressive 55.7% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc. Baylor, on the other hand, struggled to find their rhythm, hitting just 36.4% of their shots and going 3-17 from three-point land. The Lady Raiders' defensive pressure was relentless, forcing 21 turnovers and converting those into 19 points.

Despite a valiant effort in the third quarter that saw Baylor cut the deficit to 15, Texas Tech surged ahead, extending their lead to as much as 35 points late in the game.

Taliah Scott and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs were the bright spots for Baylor, each scoring 13 points. Scott was particularly effective from the free-throw line, adding seven points there.

Kiersten Johnson battled hard on the boards, pulling down six rebounds, four of which were offensive. Jana Van Gytenbeek and Yuting Deng contributed with three assists apiece.

Looking ahead, Baylor returns to Waco for a couple of crucial matchups. They'll face Arizona on Saturday at 7 p.m. and then take on Kansas State on Monday at 6 p.m. CT.
