In the world of collegiate equestrian, Baylor’s Jumping Seat senior, Lauren Jorgensen, is making waves. Recently honored as the Arion Sellier Fences and Flat Rider of the Month by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA), Jorgensen's performance has been nothing short of stellar.

Mastering the Flat

Jorgensen’s prowess in Flat riding is undeniable. She wrapped up an undefeated month, going 2-0, and earned the Most Outstanding Performer accolade against Fresno State.

With an impressive average score of 80.5, she dominated her opponents, securing victories with margins as wide as 13 points. Her standout performance against UT Martin contributed to a commanding 4-0 sweep for the Flat squad, and her 84-81 triumph over Fresno State was pivotal in the Bears’ 3-2 win.

Dominating the Fences

In Fences, Jorgensen continued her winning streak with a 2-0 record in March, earning another MOP honor against UT Martin. Her average score of 84.5, coupled with a substantial 12.5-point win margin, showcased her skill and consistency. She clinched an 85.5-83 victory over the Skyhawks, leading to a 4-0 sweep, and delivered a remarkable 22.5-point win against Fresno State, helping secure a 3-2 team victory.

A Season to Remember

These latest honors mark Jorgensen's second and third career monthly recognitions. She concludes the regular season with impressive records of 7-2-2 in Fences and 5-3 in Flat. Notably, she maintained a perfect 6-0 conference record in Fences, holding the second-highest season score average in the program's history during the Maxwell Era, with an 84.36 average over at least 10 meets.

Looking Ahead

As Baylor heads to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the 2026 Big 12 Equestrian Championship, all eyes will be on Jorgensen. The No. 4 seed Bears are set to face the top-seeded Oklahoma State Cowgirls in the semifinals on March 27. With Jorgensen leading the charge, Baylor is poised to make a significant impact at the Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center.
