Baylor women’s golf has added Ornella Arrizon to its staff, with Coach Jay Goble announcing Tuesday that she will serve as the program’s assistant coach.
Arrizon arrives in Waco after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Tulane. A Mexico City native, she also brings experience from two seasons as a graduate assistant at South Alabama from 2023-25, along with a long background in instruction and player development in Mexico.
“I am incredibly honored to join Baylor University as the Assistant Coach for the women's golf program,” Arrizon said. “I look forward to contributing to the program's continued success while helping our student-athletes grow as competitors and individuals.

Goble pointed to both her coaching résumé and her recruiting reach when describing what she brings to the Bears.
“Ornella is an outstanding coach who brings a wealth of golf knowledge to our team next year,” Goble said. “She has played golf at a super-high level but was also a swing coach in Mexico City for over 10 years before deciding to come back and get a double master's degree at South Alabama. Her international and domestic recruiting abilities will also be very helpful in bringing the best players from around the world to Baylor.
At Tulane, Arrizon helped guide the Green Wave to a seventh-place finish at the American Golf Championships, the team’s best finish since 2023. Sophia Chen finished 16 th overall at the conference championships and Francesca Pompa placed 26 th.
Her South Alabama stint included four top-three tournament finishes for the Jaguars, highlighted by a win at the Green Wave Invitational at TPC Louisiana in September 2024. She also helped coach two all-conference selections and the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2025.
Before moving into college coaching, Arrizon spent four years as Director of Instruction for Junior Academies at Club de Golf Vallescondido and three years in the same role at Club de Golf Bellavista, while also overseeing golf operations and events.
She has also worked as an on-air commentator for LIV Golf Tour tournament broadcasts in Mexico and Latin America. Arrizon holds certifications in TPI, Golf Biomechanics, U.S.
Kids, Trackman and Sam Putt Lab, and took part in a Certificate Program in Sports Psychology in 2021. She has been a member of PGA of Mexico since 2020.
As a player at Jacksonville State from 2009-13, Arrizon was a three-time Ohio Valley all-tournament team selection. In her junior season, she won the individual OVC Championship and helped lead the Gamecocks to an NCAA Regional appearance.
Arrizon graduated from Jacksonville State in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, earning magna cum laude honors. She later earned two Master of Science Degrees from South Alabama in 2025, one in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology with a concentration in Health Promotion and another in Sport Management.

Fall camp arrives with a little more clarity and a lot more curiosity for Baylor, which is set to get players reporting on Aug. 4 before the first practice opens Aug. 5. Phil Steele Just Put Five Baylor Bears In The Spotlight
Phil Steeles preseason list gave Baylor a little bit of everything, starting with senior punter Palmer Williams and extending across all three phases of the roster. Williams landed on the third-team Preseason All-America list and was also named the Big 12s top preseason punter, while defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler, linebacker Travion Barnes, long snapper Dylan Schaub and offensive tackle Kaden Sieracki also drew conference recognition.
For Baylor, the spread of those honors says as much about the programs depth as it does about any one standout. Williams has already established himself as a weapon, and the special teams respect was joined by nods for an interior defender, a linebacker, a snapper and a tackle, giving the Bears a strong early-season snapshot of where some of their most trusted pieces stand.
