Baylor Women's Golf Faces A New Road With Its 2026-27 Slate

Baylor women's golf unveils a diverse 2026-27 schedule that promises tests on new terrains and exciting local opportunities.

Baylor women’s golf will spend the 2026-27 season crisscrossing the country, and the Bears’ new schedule gives Jay Goble exactly the kind of balance he wants.

The program announced Friday a 10-event regular season that stretches from the Lowcountry to Southern California, with four tournaments within 150 miles of Waco and multiple trips to both coasts. Goble said the layout gives Baylor a chance to stay connected to its supporters while also facing a variety of conditions.

"We love the way this schedule shakes out," he said. "We have a handful of tournaments within driving distance to give our supporters a chance to see us in person, while also testing ourselves on some different grasses in different climates. We have a couple of trips scheduled to Southern California, where we plan to end our season, so I'm really excited about this schedule."

Baylor opens in Charleston, S.C., at the Charleston Intercollegiate, where the Bears are back for the first time since 2021. That year, Baylor finished second. The next stop is the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla., a tournament the Bears last played in 2022, when they placed fifth after winning it in 2020.

From there, Baylor heads to Knoxville, Tenn., for its first appearance in the Tennessee Intercollegiate, scheduled for Oct. 4-6.

The Bears then return to Texas for the ACU Intercollegiate in Granbury, a regular-season event that will air on Golf Channel for the sixth straight season, running Oct. 19-21.

The spring slate starts with a familiar test in California. Baylor returns to the Therese Hession Challenge for the 12th time and its first appearance since 2024.

The event, formerly known as the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, is set for Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Palos Verdes.

After that, the Bears go to The Woodlands for the Texas Golf Throwdown from Feb. 14-16, then back out west for the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., from March 1-2. Palos Verdes hosts Baylor again for the GameAbove Invitational on March 15-16.

The regular season closes with a Texas swing that starts at the Charles Schwab Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 22-23, then continues at The 'Mo in Bryan, Texas, from April 4-5.

The postseason takes Baylor out of Texas for the first time since 2019 at the Big 12 Championship, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nev., from April 21-23. NCAA regionals are set for May 10-12, with sites in Aiken, S.C.

; Dallas, Texas; Fort Wayne, Ind. ; Franklin, Tenn.

; Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and Stanford, Calif.

The NCAA Championships return to the Omni La Costa Resort Champions Course in Carlsbad, Calif., from May 21-26.

Baylor Suddenly Has A Real Caden Powell Decision Looming

Caden Powells Baylor future just got a lot more interesting, and not just because of what he did on the floor last season. The forward stepped into a bigger role after Juslin Bodo Bodo went down with a forearm injury, and he made the most of the opportunity, giving the Bears steady production and a physical presence when they needed it.

Now Baylor has to fold Powell into a much bigger conversation about what the roster could look like in 2026-27. An NCAA eligibility change tied to age-based rules has opened the door for another season, which means the Bears have to think about scholarship math, roster spots and revenue-sharing plans with one more moving part than they expected. Why Isaiah Robinson Suddenly Matters So Much For Baylor In 2026

Isaiah Robinson has been in Baylors program long enough to stop feeling like a pure projection and start looking like a real answer. The offensive lineman spent two seasons developing behind the scenes after arriving as a highly regarded recruit, and even without playing in the 2025 season, he has remained one of the more intriguing pieces on the roster because of his size, talent and the way the depth chart is setting up around him.

That matters now because Baylor is heading into 2026 with very little proven continuity up front, and Robinson is expected to be in the mix for a starting tackle job. Protecting the quarterback is going to be one of the defining tasks for the Bears next season, and with so few returning starters on the line, Robinsons long wait could finally turn into a major role.
