Baylor Softball Is Bringing Back A Beloved Bear For Something Bigger

Former Baylor standout Presleigh Pilon brings her exceptional field skills and Baylor values back home as she steps into the new role of Director of Player Development after finishing her professional season with the KC Diamonds.

Baylor softball is bringing a familiar name back to Waco.

Head coach Glenn Moore announced Friday morning that former Bears standout Presleigh Pilon will return to the program as Director of Player Development. Pilon is currently playing professionally with the KC Diamonds of the Professional Softball League, and she is set to officially join Baylor in August after her pro season ends.

“Presleigh has always represented everything we want Baylor softball to stand for,” Moore said. “She was an outstanding player, a tremendous teammate and someone who made a lasting impact on our program.

She understands our culture, she loves Baylor and she knows what it takes to succeed here. Having her return in this role is incredibly special because our student-athletes will benefit tremendously from her experience, leadership and passion for this program.”

Pilon’s return comes after a standout run in green and gold that put her among the most accomplished defensive players in Baylor softball history. The Murrieta, California, native was a three-year letterwinner from 2023-25 and started all 171 games she played in during her career.

Her resume is loaded with milestones. Pilon was the 2025 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and she helped Baylor set a then-school record with 31 double plays in 2024, a number later matched by the 2026 squad. A year later, she set the program’s single-season record with 152 assists.

She finished her Baylor career fifth in school history with 403 assists and also shares the school single-game record with four runs scored.

At the plate, Pilon logged 490 career at-bats and hit .255 with 125 hits, 61 RBIs, 17 doubles and 30 stolen bases. She was a steady presence near the top of the order and in the middle infield, helping Baylor reach multiple NCAA Tournaments and get to the final game of the Gainesville Super Regional in 2024.

Pilon has carried that momentum into the pro game. In 13 games with the KC Diamonds, she has 14 hits in 28 at-bats, along with a double and two triples.

Baylor May Have Found The Veteran Voice This Rebuild Needed

Baylors roster makeover has been one of the bigger offseason storylines in Waco, with seven new players arriving as the Bears try to turn a fresh group into a functioning team before the games start to count. In that kind of rebuild, talent is only part of the equation. The other part is finding someone who can steady the room, and guard Isaac Williams is quickly shaping up as the voice this group needs.

Williams, who recently agreed to a two-year deal, is expected to be a central figure for Baylors next stretch and has already put a premium on defense and team unity. The Bears will get a chance to keep building that chemistry through international scrimmages in Canada and the Players Era tournament, where the early goal is less about polish than about figuring out who they are together before the regular season arrives. Baylor Softball Just Landed A Huge Arm For Glenn Moore

Baylor softball kept building its future with another addition to Glenn Moores roster, as the Bears continued to add experienced arms and proven college talent ahead of the 2027 season. The latest move fits the kind of aggressive roster work that has become a theme for Baylor, which has been active in both the transfer market and on the recruiting trail as it looks to deepen a staff that can hold up in Big 12 play.

The newest name brings a decorated rsum from Southeastern Louisiana, where a sophomore pitcher emerged as one of the Southland Conferences top performers in 2026. She is set to join a Baylor group that has already added several other newcomers, including teammate Haley Crawford, giving Moore another layer of depth to sort through before the next wave of competition arrives.
