Baylor soccer gets right back to work Sunday night, welcoming Pepperdine to Betty Lou Mays Field for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff after Thursday’s win over Texas in Austin.
The Bears are back home for a match that comes with a little extra on the side: the annual Pups at the Pitch promotion. Fans can bring their dogs, and the first 100 will receive a free bandana. Admission to home soccer matches is free throughout the regular season, and the game will stream on ESPN+.
This will be the first meeting ever between Baylor and Pepperdine in the 31-year history of BU soccer. The Waves arrive in Waco with a 2-0-2 start to 2026, having beaten Colgate and Cal while drawing USC and Texas Tech. On Thursday night against the Red Raiders, Pepperdine scored in the 78th minute, only to see Texas Tech answer in the 81st minute after the Waves had led for just three minutes.
Pepperdine has been guided for 29 seasons by Tim Ward, who owns a 322-158-80 (.646) record. Offensively, Julia Quinonez leads the way with three goals in four games, including one game winner, while Kyra Murphy has a team-high two assists.
Baylor, meanwhile, pushed to 3-1-0 on the year Thursday and sits at the halfway point of non-conference play after continuing its run against the SEC. The Bears still have LSU and Oral Roberts on the road and Marquette at home before Big 12 play opens Sept. 24 in Waco against Oklahoma State.
On the stat sheet, Baylor has gotten balanced production. and Callie Conrad lead the Bears with two goals apiece, while Theresa McCullough and Aryanna Jimison scored their first goals of the year at Texas to join Olivia Hess Noelle Sather and Grace White, who each have one. McCullough and Brynnlee Bohannon have a pair of assists each.
