Baylor volleyball’s Isabela Haggard picked up Big 12 Setter of the Week honors on Tuesday after steering the Bears through a clean 2-0 run at the Baylor Classic.
Haggard was the engine behind a Baylor offense that looked balanced and efficient all weekend. She piled up 82 assists in seven sets, good for 13.67 assists per set, as the Bears hit .279 as a team. Baylor also averaged 14.71 kills and 13.43 assists per set across the two matches.
Her best work came in a pair of wins that showcased just how much control she had over the offense. Haggard opened with 37 assists in a four-set win over Incarnate Word, then followed it with a season-high 45 assists in a three-set sweep of UTEP.
That 45-assist performance was the most by a Bear in a three-set match since Averi Carlson had 45 at Iowa State on Oct. 1, 2023.
The Marquette transfer’s value wasn’t limited to setting. Over the two matches, she added four kills, three service aces, 10 digs and five big blocks. Baylor finished the weekend with 103 kills, far ahead of its opponents’ 69.
Haggard, a Lexington, Ky., native, is Baylor’s first Big 12 Setter of the Week, with the conference beginning to hand out the award this season.
The Bears now turn their attention to conference play, opening against No. 22 BYU on Friday night in a top-25 matchup. The game will be televised nationally on FS1, with stats available at BaylorBears.com/Stats.

Bear Acys early recruitment is already carrying a layer of Baylor history with it. The five-star prospect in the 2029 class has picked up an offer from the Bears, putting the program in position to chase a player whose family name still resonates in Waco thanks to his father, Quincy Acy, who starred there from 2008 to 2012.
Quincy Acy became one of Scott Drews most notable players at Baylor, earning All-Big 12 Defensive Team honors in 2011-12, and the possibility of Drew coaching his son would make this a particularly unusual kind of family thread.
