Baylor is rolling out a long list of game-day upgrades at McLane Stadium this fall, giving fans plenty to notice when they return Saturday for the 2026 home opener against Prairie View A&M.
The biggest changes start before kickoff. Baylor Backyard Tailgating will create a dedicated space for fans just outside the stadium, while Touchdown Alley is getting a bigger role with an expanded pregame setup that includes live entertainment, family activities, food trucks and more.
Music is part of the push, too. The Baylor Backyard Live Concert Series will bring live performances to Touchdown Alley before games, highlighted by a Sept. 26 appearance from Texas country music legend Pat Green.
Inside the stadium, Baylor is also introducing Fan First Concessions, which will feature new signature items and pricing options. That list includes the Bear Claw, the 254 Classics Menu and the $18.45 Baylor Bear Family Pack.
The atmosphere will get a boost from a new stadium-wide LED lighting system designed to spotlight key moments and add energy throughout McLane Stadium.
Baylor is also bringing back some familiar touches. The Original Bear Walk Route, presented by Alberta Boots, will give fans an extended and more fan-friendly path through the Baylor Backyard tailgating area as they welcome the Bears to the stadium. The Bear Bell, which has not been part of every home game in two decades, is also back and will be included in the Bear Walk.
Fans will have a few more ways to join in throughout the season, too. Baylor is offering exclusive game-day experiences such as taking part in the Bear Walk and watching live action from the sideline.
The school also let fans help shape the look for the home opener through a social media poll this summer as part of Fan First Uniform Pic 'Em, with the Bears’ game-day outfit set for 254 Night.
On the fan giveaway side, Growl Towels will be available for game-specific use. Fans can pick up a free towel at the Astound Tent in Touchdown Alley while supplies last, buy one for $1 at the Baylor Bookstore kiosks and Sideline Shop inside McLane Stadium, or grab one at the student pickup tent on the South Plaza, where the first 5,000 students will receive one.
There are also a couple of date-specific traditions on the schedule. Baylor’s Gold Rush Shirts return 25 years after the tradition began, with the goal of filling McLane Stadium in gold on Sept. 19 against Louisiana Tech. That same night, Cub Club members can go on the field for a shortened pregame route.
For families, Baylor has added stroller parking at the South Plaza and Gate B entrances. And for Waco residents, the Waco Rush Pass is available at BaylorBears.com/WacoRush, offering access to exclusive ticket opportunities throughout the 2026-27 athletics season, including the Sept. 12 game against Prairie View A&M and the Sept. 19 matchup with Louisiana Tech.

Baylor Has One Offensive Problem It Needs To Fix Fast
Baylor walked away from Week 1 with a one-point loss to Auburn, and the part that will stick in Waco is how close the Bears came without ever quite finishing the job.
