Baylor Earns Dozens of Big 12 Academic Honors Across Four Fall Sports

Baylor's commitment to academic excellence shines as nearly 50 fall athletes across five sports earn Big 12 recognition.

Baylor Shines with 47 Honorees on Big 12 Fall Academic All-Conference List

The Big 12 Conference rolled out its Fall Academic All-Big 12 honorees for the 2025 semester on Thursday, and Baylor made a strong statement in the classroom. A total of 47 Baylor student-athletes earned recognition across five fall sports-men’s and women’s cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball-highlighting the program’s commitment to balancing athletic excellence with academic achievement.

Soccer led the way for Baylor with 17 honorees, a testament to the team’s depth not just on the pitch but in the classroom. Volleyball followed with eight selections, while women’s cross country and football each had seven. Men’s cross country rounded out the list with five student-athletes recognized.

To earn a spot on the Academic All-Big 12 team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 GPA either cumulatively or over the previous two semesters and must have competed in at least 20% of their team’s scheduled contests. There are a few exceptions-freshmen and first-year transfers aren’t eligible, and seniors with at least two years in the program can qualify even if they fall short on participation, provided they meet the academic standard.

Across the entire Big 12, 1,093 student-athletes were honored, underscoring the conference’s emphasis on academic success as a key pillar of the student-athlete experience.
