Baylor Dominates Alcorn State with Historic 57-Point Win at Foster Pavilion
WACO, Texas - Baylor men’s basketball didn’t just win on Friday night - they put on a clinic. In front of a lively home crowd at Foster Pavilion, the Bears rolled past Alcorn State with a 113-56 victory, marking one of the most lopsided wins in program history.
This one was over early and emphatic. Baylor shot a blistering 64.6% from the field - the seventh-best shooting performance in school history - and poured in 113 points, tying for the 11th-most ever by a Baylor team.
The 57-point margin? That tied for ninth-largest in program history.
Simply put, the Bears were firing on all cylinders.
And it wasn’t just one player doing the damage. Six different Bears scored in double figures - a balanced, unselfish offensive effort that’s becoming a trademark of this squad.
Cameron Carr led the way with 24 points, followed by Isaac Williams IV (21), Michael Rataj (18), Tounde Yessoufou (17), Obi Agbim (14), and Dan Skillings Jr. (12).
That kind of depth makes Baylor a nightmare matchup for just about anyone.
But the night wasn’t just about scoring. Caden Powell, the Waco native, owned the glass with a career-high 16 rebounds and notched his 500th career board in the process. Agbim hit a personal milestone too, reaching 1,500 career points - a testament to his consistency and veteran presence.
This win also extended Baylor’s home non-conference winning streak to 50 games, the second-longest active streak in the country behind Auburn. That’s not just dominance - that’s a fortress. Teams don’t just lose at Foster Pavilion; they get overwhelmed.
And speaking of control, Baylor committed just seven fouls all game - their lowest total this season. That’s a sign of a team playing disciplined, smart basketball on both ends of the floor.
First-Half Surge Sets the Tone
Alcorn State actually struck first, but Baylor quickly flipped the script with a 12-0 run that featured high-flying dunks from Yessoufou and Williams. The Braves tried to claw back with a couple of jumpers and a three, but Baylor’s defense clamped down, forcing turnovers and turning them into points.
With just under 12 minutes left in the first half, the Bears led 18-12. From there, they shifted into another gear.
Powell’s dunk at the midway mark sparked another surge, and by the time the halftime buzzer sounded, Baylor had ripped off a 17-2 run to close the half up 55-30. That stretch included a barrage of threes from Agbim and Carr, with Carr’s second dunk of the night bringing the house down.
Second-Half Statement
Baylor didn’t let up after the break. Rataj opened the second half with a jumper, Carr threw down his third dunk, and the Bears went on an 8-0 run that ballooned the lead to 69-34. But they weren’t done.
Over the next six minutes, Baylor outscored Alcorn State 25-3. The highlight reel kept growing - dunks from Carr and Skillings Jr., a deep three from Agbim, and relentless transition play that left the Braves scrambling. With 11:25 still to play, the Bears were up 86-37.
Agbim’s milestone three-pointer came in the middle of that second-half run, and the crowd let him hear it. The Bears kept the pressure on, with Powell, Williams, and Skillings Jr. adding fastbreak buckets to stretch the lead even further.
By the time Drew Perry knocked down a free throw to close it out, Baylor had hit the 113-point mark - their highest scoring output since facing Mississippi Valley State in 2022.
What’s Next
Baylor wraps up its non-conference slate on Sunday, Dec. 21, when they host Southern at noon inside Foster Pavilion - a game that doubles as a celebration of 254 Day. With momentum building and the rotation clicking on all fronts, the Bears look poised to carry this dominant form into conference play.
This team isn’t just winning - it’s making a statement. And if Friday night was any indication, Baylor is locked in and ready for the battles ahead.
