Ravens Tap Former Bears Coach for Key Offensive Role

The Ravens turn to rising offensive mind Declan Doyle to help revitalize their attack and maximize Lamar Jacksons MVP-caliber talent.

The Ravens have found their new offensive coordinator, and it’s a name that’s been quietly building momentum in coaching circles: Declan Doyle. Baltimore is handing the reins of its offense to a coach who’s been around some of the sharpest minds in the game-and now he gets the chance to call plays himself.

Doyle spent last season as the offensive coordinator in Chicago, but play-calling duties belonged to Ben Johnson. That changes in Baltimore, where Doyle will have full control of the offense and, more importantly, a chance to work with one of the league’s most electric quarterbacks in Lamar Jackson.

This is a pivotal hire for new head coach Jesse Minter, who’s putting a key piece of his staff in place with Doyle. For the Ravens, the move signals a commitment to innovation and offensive balance-something that’s been elusive in recent years despite Jackson’s individual brilliance.

Doyle’s coaching résumé includes two years as the tight ends coach in Denver, and before that, he was part of Sean Payton’s staff in New Orleans. That’s a pair of offensive systems known for precision, creativity, and adaptability-traits the Ravens will be eager to tap into as they look to retool their attack.

Now, Doyle steps into a high-stakes role. He’ll be tasked with maximizing Lamar Jackson’s dual-threat ability, developing a consistent passing game, and bringing fresh wrinkles to a Ravens offense that’s shown flashes but hasn’t quite found its rhythm in the postseason.

Baltimore is betting that Doyle’s time under Johnson and Payton has prepared him for this next step. If he can blend that knowledge with the unique talent on the Ravens’ roster, especially under center, this could be a turning point for a team looking to get back into the playoff mix in 2026.
